I probably won't do any more grunting unless I see a buck grunting. I may try a doe bleat at a lone buck to make him think a doe is still in heat. I won't blind call though, only if I see one and want to get it closer.

My neighbor also just told me the buck had an arrow wound that split his chest on the underside and sliced the back of his left front leg. Looks like the buck I must have hit almost a month ago. Just glad he didn't go to waste. This also means it wasn't the big 8 like I thought it was. I just saw him earlier that day and figured it was him coming back.

Well my preseason #2 was killed by a neighbor. Two years in a row I’ve lost my #1 & #2 bucks.

Not a good feeling for me but congrats to them.

Well the old cubs saying always can apply. "there is always next year"

I feel like that is the official slogan of hunters everywhere!

Wish I could be “that neighbor” that always shoots the buck we have on camera, lol. Lost 3 here so far to neighbors.

And a hog, which I’m glad got shot.

Well I know late season hunting can be brutal, but how many of us are going to keep after a buck? After seeing our neighbors take several hit listers especially. I will keep after one. I do 99% of the times though only hunt evenings in late season unless one of my cams have bucks showing early on a consistent basis.

I’m still hitting it hard, I been hunting with my bow during gun season in Ohio and Pa. I’ll be going till season ends to get one down with the bow.
