For some reason I'm really looking forward to Tomorrow. The winds are supposed to pick up as the day goes on, but I only need the first couple hours. Good luck to you tomorrow! Good things to come!

Who else is going to be on stand Thanksgiving morning?

I plan on sitting until 10 or 11 movement depending, gonna get up to 50 degrees or so, itching to pull the trigger but think I have a solid game plan.

Have a self serve ice vending machine 15lb bags for $2 or 20lb drops for filling coolers for $2. Think I'll take $14 with me. Throw 2-3 bags in the cavity/hams and get the rest loose ice and fill the bed of the truck with 160lbs of ice and keep it cool. Processor I'll be using has a 24 hour drop, but I have a trust issue with human beings anymore.

Also had my best night this year. Had a yearling come in giving me every shot possible. Then a group of 6 does worked there way over, needed her to take 4 more steps, doe across the field blew at something else and they all scattered. Came back again as they work their way back, then all scatter as a small 4 point chases them back across the field. Ugh. Then right at legal light a nice 8 point come in 30 yds to my left, get ready for it to clear the tree, coming right at my decoy, that damn little 4 point runs over and picks a fight. Draw on him twice in the next 10 minutes but he never gives me a shot through the tree. Eventually chases off across the field. Cool night, but I might only have one or 2 shots of getting back out before bow closes for December.

Will be out. We don't have anything planned family wise so I'll have nothing better to do.

Goin to work this morning saw 3 nice bucks along road. They were apparently moving today. Haven't been seein much of that this year yet so hopefully means will be a good weekend. Usually when see the big boys from the road its a good sign ha.

Been a weird year for certain IMO. Not sure what to say or think about it.

Rutting moon? Well, going with that theory 2nd week of November was it, granted I wasn't out as much as I expected but I seen nothing to suggest it was the peak rut here. Been cold, snowy, windy, rainy etc. but none of it really had an affect either way.

When its hot we say it needs to be cold, we had that this year abundantly yet here we are wondering when it happened or is going to happen.

The past 2 years my last hunt was before shotgun season, and very few seasons have I hunted late November. Usually waited for snow hunts or free weekends.

This year it just seems like from Halloween up to and maybe through Thanksgiving the rut has been going good. Hit and miss by location, but we aren't out there every waning minute of each day.

Said it earlier a few days ago, this season has been an eye opener in a way as far as conditions and the rut when compared to the last 3-4 "prime" rut times.

Yea I haven't been out really a whole lot, just the week I took off, and saw some begginings of what would consider rut. But really haven't noticed it full on. Again havent been out except one sit since vacation ended. Usually start to see action week or two before shotgun and then this week and week of 2nd season on farm i hunt. Then it's a ghost town.

Weird thing is usually see alot more from the road tho too. And today was first day really started seeing that. I agree about the weather but also think its kinda got everything all screwed up this year. There's lots of crops still in the ground around here so don't know if that is keeping the deer in place more since don't have to really go looking for food or what. Seemed like a weird year so far tho.

The other day posted pics of deer killed the Friday of shotgun, well now one or the taxidermist has posted more pics from guy that shot it. Ended up scoring 231" and the guy that shot it was from GA, other than that all know is got shot in part of pike county IL. Heck of a deer tho. Surprised the taxi posted that they were doin the mount really, sure the shop is getting flooded with ppl wanting to see it. I could go but really why bother the guys trying to do their job, I hate ppl showing up on our jobsites. Even tho it is only a 20 min drive and I know the owner ha.

Anywha here's pics for anyone curious. [IMG][IMG][IMG]

I’m up and getting geared up..not feeling super confident. Really just hoping some lucks on my side today and a new buck has ventured on the property. Have two options today. Either I’m going to sit all day on this property or if I’m not seeing the movement I’m packing up and headed to a public land spot I scouted yesterday. Sign everywhere and lots of acorns. Also no sign of other hunters and the tree I located is only maybe 100 yards off the road. So today I roll the dice. Wife told me we couldn’t afford another deer tag right now so looks like I’m buck only. Good luck today to all that’s out!

Tossed and turned all night and didn't sleep worth a darn. Oh well. Only live once and this will probably be my last hunt in November so I didnt want to miss it. Trying to kill that big buck I missed a couple weeks ago. Nice and cold out here. Headed in now.

    Good luck everyone.
