    Got this whole week off of work so I snuck out for an evening hunt last night with a couple buddies, ended up doing really well! 14 mallards and 1 black. Seems like we got a ton of birds in so headed back out tonight!

    Well it's finally here in my part of NY! Got out for a quick shoot yesterday in the afternoon, they didn't fly too well, but managed a nice drake green top and drake Buffie, shot a drake hoodie also, but unfortunately lost him.

    Season is coming to a close here. We have until sunday, but then a two day lat split after Christmas. Got out monday and did well, 3 man limit of mallards and a bonus black and pin. Hopefully I will get out this weekend for the last two days.

    Got out yesterday for my last hunt of the regular season. Super cold, only shot 4 ducks but one was a really nice canvasback. Still debating whether or not I want to mount it.

    I ended up taking that can into the taxi today- getting him sitting on an ice rock. We’ve had some mild temps this year but small water starting to lock up this past week. Based on temps in the forecast it looks like we might even be open for the late split after Christmas. Big water will be open for certain. I took this photo on Lake St. Clair today, this was probably only 1/4 of the raft. All canvasbacks

    That’s a nice can, I have one in a glass case that I got years ago. I would get it mounted, they are getting harder to find.
