Got busy this morning, so here is final for the morning hunt wound up see 10 deer at least 3 of those were bucks. Had to wait on a doe and fawn to get up from their beds before I could get down They had bedded 20 yards or so straight out in front of the stand . That is a first for me on bedded deer .Very cool experience.

I'm back home, relaxing, washing my 10 tons of dirty camo. Picked up the meat from the processor, got quite a bit from those two. Now, I can finish off what I was saving from last season
I got swindled into working next Saturday. Sucks, I would love to get back out after Thanksgiving. I'll be back out for some late action, would love to put down one more deer. Good luck to everyone still at it!

Congrats to Arrowflinger, I remember that pic. What an awesome buck!
And to USAF, what a great family pic!

Going to be a long night. Justin shot a 6 1/2 year old buck tonight we call Beamer. Not a lot of blood but there isn't a lot with this Savage 220 all the time. Very accurate slug gun and the buck reacted like he hit him good. Ran down in the ravine so we backed out until it gets light out.

Ended up seeing a small 8 and that was it. Buddy and his wife saw alot i guess. She ended up shooting a little 7 pointer. They said they had a big one come out that was limping real bad and laid down in field. Tried getting to it i guess to shoot him but could never get close enough. So idk what goin on there. They thought he looked like had been shot but nobody has showed up wanting to track and haven't seen anyone. So who knows. Kind of a shame if acted way they talked sounds like could be dead deer that may go to waste. Know few ppl that hunt around us that if deer dont drop they don't look and shoot anything until one does drop in sight.

Also just read this one was killed supposedly in Pike county (IL) yesterday so pretty close to my area. Think said 231". But dont know anything bout it.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

I get the combo as well and you are correct for bow. You must be in the green DMU 487 then? I’m in SW MI where you can not shoot a doe with a gun using a combo tag.

IMG_20181117_214834_484.jpg Good things happen to those who wait! I grunted this guy in at 330 and he came in on a string. He ducked the arrow and hit him in the spine and down into his liver and one lung he didn't go anywhere! my biggest buck to date!

Here it is...It was my first hunt back in Kentucky after driving all night from Arkansas after a full day of work. I only slept 4 hours due to the drive. I planned to hunt all week while home for my annual Thanksgiving/hunting vacation. It was 28 degrees and barley any wind from the SW, which was perfect. I had a spike come in from behind me and stopped at about 10 yards broadside. I was planning to shoot anything, but it was the first 15 minutes of the first hunt, and I decided not to shoot a spike. About 20 minutes later at 0650, I hear something behind me that sounds like a deer. It was a small 8 point buck and he was coming from the pond going uphill entering the woods behind me. You could hear every step he made due to the frost on the ground. He followed the same trail that the spike took. I had him slightly quartered away at 10 yards and let my arrow fly! It was a complete pass through. He did a jump kick and then very slowly walked away. He walked about 30 yards total in almost a complete "U" shape and fell right back in front of me. He ended up weighing 155# and had a 10" spread. He wasn't my biggest deer, but it was probably my favorite bow kill hunt ever due to how perfectly everything played out and how much time I invested this year. I quartered him out in the barn and took him to the processor to get made into snack sticks and summer sausage. He is gonna eat well! My 5 year old daughter already wants me to shoot another one so we can get more deer meat. She loves it!

Thanks Swamp! One of the bigger deer I have seen in the area in a while!
