Team...Just wanted to give you all a quick update. I am working a half day at work here in Arkansas, then the family and I are headed to Kentucky for our annual Thanksgiving/hunting trip. I cannot wait. I will be in the stand most every morning and probably 5 evenings. This will be my main hunting time for the whole year! I have already logged over 50 hours this year in a tree, without harvesting a deer. I did shoot a doe in early season, but it was a high meat hit. Therefore with no blood, I did not find her. I have not been able to get a bowkill for 2 years now. Basically, if it is brown, it is down! (Except for a spike). Have a great day!

Good luck guys! I’m stuck in the barn this weekend, gun season starts this morning. I have a doe tag, but I just can’t get excited about shoot a doe with a slug.
Gonna install the door opener on the barn door.

So far had a spike under my tree. Beauty of a morning, 41 degrees hardly a wisp of wind. :)

Well putting the bow away for a couple weeks and picking up the shotgun. Bow opens back up for another week in December.

Picked up my trail camera in the park this morning. Had quite a few bucks on it some of which were daylight, a few does, and a bunch of other hunters. Thinking I might double my distance from the lot when setting my blind for Monday’s hunt.

gratefully can say currently don't have a tag to fill right now in my pocket until December 1 comes and second archery season opens up. have the snow shoes packed, the woolies and the Winchester 94 30-30 packed and headed to camp tonight for the next three days! first time going to camp bucked out! 9" of snow up there and I can't wait track something in it, or maybe I can run into a coyote! tags or not I'll be in the woods learning and enjoying the land.

All set up on stand this morning in the great state of Kentucky! Bout to start this week vacation off right. If it's brown, it's down! Be safe and good luck to all who are out!

Just bowkilled a small 8 point! I watched him go down in front of me! God is good! It's been 2 years for me since my last bowkill. I am truly blessed. I love my dad's land. Can't wait to retire from the Air Force and get to mange it and enjoy it more. Pics and story to come. Gonna wait a bit and then have my son help me drag it out. View attachment 89728
