Brutal morning over here. Cold, windy and raining, the deer we’re hunkered down.
Had two little ones come in about 9 o’clock. Sitting in the truck now drying off, thinking about what I’m gonna do for the afternoon.

Well, I did not paint the woods red this morning. It wasn't due to lack of trying. I did see that big 8 point, but nothing else. Hoping to get back out there tomorrow night. Def will be out on Monday for Veterans Day! Good luck to all who are out for the evening hunt!! Get em!

Yea ha that's what always heard. Whenever the local paper put a front page story about it and the guy in pic was squated down packing a bag and his "bag" was hanging out of his shorts. Then a naked lady walking by nehind him. She was out of focus but it was obvious ha. Then ppl complain about the mess and hotels and whatever else. Got rid of that the thunder on the river thing, and used to have go cart races but ran it all out. Then couldn't figure out why revenue started dropping. Actually getting kinda bad, with events staying around.

Why switch back to a bow? A crossbow is a lot more conducive to the way you like to hunt.

Already had a 6pt watch me climb my tree and get strapped in just bedded down and watched
Must have been good entertainment for him. Glad brought the umbrella with the snow melting it’s like it’s raining

    Good luck everyone!

As long as I get a tree stand wingman I can go back to using a tree stand. I had to stay on the ground because of health issues. Example: I’m 25’ up in a summit viper and I start having stroke symptoms... rescue would have to bring a 25’ ladder a mile into the woods which means I’m dead by the time they find me and get me down. (Made my wife more comfortable with me being on the ground)

If I use the tree stand wingman and start to feel symptoms, I drop Over the edge of the stand and it lets me down. I still have to wait for rescue, but I have a better chance at survival.

EDIT: I’m switching back to a low poundage bow because I’m more accurate with one, and I really miss it!

Every time I've had that happen I've started seeing deer. Stay frosty

Oh I see, sounds like a plan then. I will be looking forward to your 2:30 wake up call for scouting during the off-season :)

Just about had my #2 hit lister. He was coming but hung up 60yards up wind.
He turned and went back. At least he’s still alive.
    Damn it.....

Well the hunting weather for today and tomorrow is pretty miserable. But I've come up with a little Jingle to keep my spirits up!

Oh the weather outside is frightful
But deer meat is soooo delightful!
So as long as I have my bow
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
