Well this is a little late notice but yesterday at 4:30 I entered the blind with about 1.5 of light left hoping a doe might pass threw my little 5 acre thicket. Hopes were high but knew most likely I would see nothing since I still had my work clothes on under the coveralls lol. Waited until five and I grunted and smacked my horns together as hard as I could.... ( Ive worked this thicket the last three years building a blind and feeder and plot on it. All DIY projects) well at about 5:10 I see this [IMG]first deer I’ve see in person in the plot in three years!!! And it’s a BUCK! Not huge, BUT A BUCK!!! He was at 35 yards and clueless I was there I drew back debating weather to take the shot we he came to 20 and turned broadside for me I knew.”this is the first deer I’m taking from here”. And I shot!!! NOCKED HIM CLEAR OFF HIS FEET! and then I left for parent teacher conference lol but when I got back out there around 8:30 this was what we seen [IMG]i knew it was good!
Found my arrow covered in blood and a 150 yards later. [IMG]FIRST DEER FROM MY DIY PROPERTY !!!
So for my team. He’s going to the butcher tonight and I’ll get the skull cap back and I’ll have him scored and posted ASAP!!!! Thanks for all the support from my boys on TEAM 19![IMG]

Ohh come on Jim that was funny! Hope they are burning in hell actually!

Haven’t seen a thing here. Snow has all melted and the woods is letting up on the dripping. I’m ready to get down. It’s cold.

Congrats Mike on the buck! Your getting faster at posting your bucks.

My buddy just called and shot a buck at 9. He not sure of shot, but got 2 arrows in him. Shot a 3rd for a hail marry shot, but doesn't know if he hit on that one. Sounds like guts on one of the shots, so he is backing out. Looks like when I get done work today I'm going on another track job! I will keep you guys posted if I go or if he finds it before I get there.

Wind is swirling.. clouds have moved in. If I move, I’m not going far, I know I’m in a good spot. Something else to work on..... the mental game.

Well I called it. I'm soaked to the bone and all I saw was a doe and fawn about 0730. Now we gotta go to the nearest town and find a laundromat 'cause our clothes are soaked.
