Now, that sounds like a great prospect Shane! Might be the lucky break you've been looking for.:tu:

What's the situation where you saw that big rub you posted? Is that a good property? The sign looks good.

Thought I kept smelling cinnamon and saw a atomic fireball wrapper blow by yesterday morning. Lol

The wrapper is just coincidence, if it isn't TP or napkins it leaves the woods with me

This guy would love me wouldn't he Tony?

If I had an internet connection I'd post a pic of the triple I got last year with my rifle (deers 6, 7 & 8 for the season) just to see if that qualifies me as one of those MFers.

Traditionally, it’s fantastic. There’s a ton of deer around. Just not many big ones this year. Not on camera not in person. That rub is in my yard, basically.

This spot seems fantastic. Potentially the best I’ve hunted. There’s just a few kinks to iron out with the landowner. My dad is good friends with him but it’s a huge business deal. If they perceive me as effing up a future sale or being a large scale company liability then I’m out no questions asked. These are big corporate guys. They don’t give a damn about me and my “deers”. Dad drove in there and said deer were running everywhere. It’s an abandoned corrections center that’s been desolate for 5 years now. Surrounded by all FP so that means literally zero pressure if nobody is sneaking in.

    I’m excited for sure

I like your thinking!! I think I'm going to hunt the knoll that the bucks cruise during the rut, where I shot my buck last year. Historically that spot is always hot during the rut. That's where I've seen majority of the bucks, my dad shot his big boy on it back in the 80's.

I'll sit till 10 then do some scouting... how are shelves during the rut? there is a series of them going down into the swamp, and i found a potential funnel/shelf today while scouting...might be good for saturday.

Today sucked HARD. Sat dark to dark didn't see a deer. Forgot my cord so couldn't keep entertained by watching this thread. Plus the pig **** knifed in just added to it.
