Not sure whether this hat is still lucky or not. Last year the 1st time I wore I shot my buck and this year the 1st time I wore it I miss my buck. Lol

Leaving work now, head home to grab my gear and hopefully be in the stand at 2:45 at the latest. My goal is to have my like count up about 50 by the time it's dark tonight!

I did this on the Saturday before Halloween. I had two does bedded 50 yards away that got up 30 minutes after I finished setting up. Neither came close enough for a shot, but they were within 50 yards of me for 90 minutes before moving off in the wrong direction.

Spotted a doe bedded 92yds away on the other side of a field just inside the tree line inside thick cover. Only spotted her coz she stood up. Live bait.

Just got caught up from 3:30 this morning, kept falling asleep while scrolling

I called it at 11. Had a decent sit, sat same stamd as yesterday and had 13 sightings, 10 doe(5 fawns) and 3 antlered bucks. A 4 and 2 sixes none older than a year and a half.

I think the big bucks are locked down or something. It is just weird. Yesterday I had 2 adult does with 2 doe fawns come in, one doe was head bobbing another empty stand.

That same doe came back through today at same time, and head bobbed that same stand from the opposite side. She definitely had some kind of experience with someone in that stand. The weird part was, she came in with 4 fawns. 3 doe fawns and a button buck. Thought that was really odd.

A doe fawn and the button buck worked their way 20yds away from the others behind me and she got a bit downwind of me. Was om edge and then think she stepped on a blade of grass and freaked out  she ran back to the others and now they are all on edge.

Was going to shoot the adult doe, but of all people I got a soft side and couldn't do it. Then one of the doe fawns reared up and hooved the button buck a few times and 4 went one way while he went the other.

Not understanding how they can be grouped up right now and anything over 2 1/2 MIA.

If I go out tomorrow brown and down will be the way. My back isn't liking it this year, sitting on medal tubes last Friday did not help, and I need my back for work. Can't affird to miss half a week with it again.

I'm just wondering if the buck to doe ratio is way out of whack. Bucks not having to search for does because there are so many to breed?

I don't know how people determine their ratios.

Yeah, I feel like an idiot. That is what I get for slowly catching up all day on this thread. My B. VS...the way your year has been going, you will get another crack at him. Or a bigger one at that! Keep at it!

Just got settled in for a night hunt. Mature doe or anything over 100 in would be just fine with me.

I’m pretty sure that is how it is where I hunt. High doe to buck ratio and insane amounts of cover for buck bedding. In all my old mans years hunting here, he has never seen a buck chasing a doe, and same for me. That’s why I feel like a dumbass rattling or grunting here.
