So he is in the cooler hanging now.... we checked his teeth.... there were no molars sticking up... it was all gum.... the taxidermist will get it Sunday and he knows aging.. as imperfect of a science as it is... When the processor saw the size of the buck he said, “That’s one big }¥[<ing deer” He weighed in at 170 dressed! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Yeah, some say the cementum annuli isn't exact, I just feel it is a lot more accurate than the molar wear. Diet is a big factor in wear. They aged this one at 4 1/2 and I agree with it. Wish I'd have done my 12 from 2016, taxidermist had him at 6 1/2, which I would also agree, or at least not dispute.
Awesome all the way around!! Congrats Tony, that’s a hell of an animal! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That is the coolest looking 4 I may ever see in my life! Thanks for the story Tony, it should motivate all of us that are still looking to kill!! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
awesome story, pictures, and buck! That's one beast of a 4 point! I love deer with unique racks, even if they don't score high or have an insane amount of points, they really stand out. Congrats man.
Way to go Tony!! Why couldn't you do that when you were on my team, jerk. Honestly, I couldn't be more happy for you. It doesn't get any better than that. You killed an ancient buck that knew every square inch of those woods and still got it done. Enjoy my friend!
