    I don't know where you hunt Swamp but you can drive all the way across Rhode Island in 1 hour...never mind 5...you could even make it to VT/NH or maybe ME with time to stop for breakfast!

    This should be my signature line because I find myself having to explain this a few times every season!

    I live in RI, hunt in CT.

    Wake up 0245, coffee, oatmeal, feed the dogs +30 minutes. =0315

    One hour drive = 4:15

    Gear up at the car +10 minutes =0425

    Walk to my spot +45 minutes =0510

    Get situated in my spot/ put thermals on/ghille suit on, +10 minutes = 0520

    Which translates to me being in my spot 1 1/2 hours before legal shooting light.

    When I was a kid hunting these woods with my dad we would always go in at grey light, and would bust deer out every single time, it never failed.

    This post took me +5 minutes, add that to my time! Lol

    On my way to the Hill this morning. Saw a 140” buck this morning about 1 mi from my house. Chancellorsville Battlefield buck hopefully he keeps headed west !
