Season update. I hunted a local WMA down here yesterday evening, saw some sign but no deer. Note: it's still HOT! This cottonmouth was in the oak bottom I was walking...

I'm heading to my lease in MS on Thursday. They should be hitting the acorns hard

My 7 year old daughter decided to do a front flip off some playground equipment at her school yesterday and broke her arm. 2 hospitals and about 8.5 hrs later she is fine and home resting. I asked her what made her do that and her perfect response was, "I thought I could make it". Hard to be mad, but I think she learned a good lesson. She's the wildest out of my three daughters. Love crap out of all of them. Anyway, thought I'd share. Cant wait to see the bill on this one btw.

I'm gonna share a pic with you from my latest camera pull. Camera is set up on a big community scrape.

Normally when I have something this big running around I keep it on the down low.

I'll probably never see him in daylight. All the pics of him are after dark!

Found a good active scrape and put some old Smokey’s on the licking branches. It’s hotter than a bar in Cancun on spring break. Last night I had does and bucks visiting the site all through the night. I think daylight activity will increase next week.

Went to my stand tonight to just observe what was going on down there. The 10 point came within 20 yards broadside. He is limping for some reason but the best thing is that I now know where his bed is. Come November 10 I will be trying to catch him either to or from. My stand is in a perfect position. It won't help the team unless I dont get a doe before but this could be a banner year for me. He is a hog! Heavy and big. I doubt he will push 150 but he may be close and I really dont care. Good luck to all of you as the time has come!

Lots of rain here yesterday. Plan on sitting ground blind tonight watchng big community scrape. Figure the bucks may be out freshening it up... Maybe I'll get to see the night stalker in daylight!

Got a little wet last night and didn’t see a deer. Glad I had my tree umbrella for the few minutes it was an absolute downpour. Nice part is it washed away my scent and I didn’t bump any bucks.

Good luck to all that is out. I'll be back next weekend. Historically November 3rd has been my best day!

Wife and I are headed to Truman lake for our annual tent camping trip. I had Monday and Tuesday scheduled off to hunt, but since I bagged an early buck we are just gonna chill this weekend. I took some pictures of the 10 point last night but phone pics suck. Second pic was at 15 ish yards broadside. Absolute torture. 20181026_213414.jpeg Screenshot_20181026-191018_Video%20Player.jpeg

No I had it in case a doe strolled by, but I cant shoot another buck till November 10 when gun season kicks off. It's the law here. Stupid but the law.
