I just got permission to hunt this 50-acre piece of land in northeast Missouri. Its mostly pasture land but there are no cows on it currently. 20-acres are wooded. Also has a creek running through it. I'm from Michigan and am heading down to MO on October 24th. Planning on hunting mostly public but may hunt this piece some as well. I have never set foot on this piece of property, do you guys think that it's worth spending some time on this piece and if so what are some possible locations you guys think might be productive?
I would definitely check it out and do some old fashioned scouting. Look for tracks, rubs, scrapes and trails. You could also put out some cameras as soon as possible. Looks promising...good luck.
Definitely worth checking out. It has a big timber connecting it, lots of crops, and a water source. If I were on that property I'd checkout the clearing between the draw and the big timber on the north side. Here's a pic with a blue outline where I'd focus at first on this property.
