Man it really felt like a Monday but thank god I’m not having a $hitty day like that guy had! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Fun little story. I get poison oak and ivy just by looking at it, I usually have it more the majority of the year in various degrees of severity. Well Sunday morning I found an awesome tree (prior to seeing the biggest buck of my 2018 season) but it was covered in vines. Regretfully I climbed it, knowing full well the repercussions of my actions. Today sitting at work, I can feel it coming. On my lips, on my chin, on my eyelids. I am in for a miserable couple of weeks.
Oh no...I’m pretty sure that I’m immune to poison ivy knock on wood. Wish you the best of luck with this Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I used to think so too... got it bad once senior year of high school and it’s been all down hill since then
I can’t believe I haven’t had it yet. Can’t remember how many times I’ve been crawling on the ground looking for mushrooms and I’ve been covered in poison ivy and haven’t had it yet. Praying I never get it! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
similar thing happen to me once I found a really good spot and the perfect tree just covered in vines a week later I am scratching up a storm....so worth it though I shot two bucks out of that tree!
Took my almost 4 year old hunting with me for the first time. He was fantastic. He saw one doe and played quietly on the tablet when action was sparse.
Yeah it turned out surprisingly well other than when I had to carry him a couple of times along with the ground blind, camera tripod, two chairs, and my hunting bag and bow.
I went back out looking for my buck yesterday and today. No body and no pics on the trail cam. I have the place so freaked out that only coons and possums came in for the bait.
It happens airenlow. It just sucks blowing up the property and not getting anything out of it. I had a slow sit tonight. A couple does and that’s it. This past weekend I picked up a road kill of the next best thing to a big buck. In perfect condition and not a bruise on him.
That sucks Airenlow, but I’m sure that buck will survive. I had a similar situation last year where I miss judged the angle of my shot and grazed the brisket. It sucks but that same buck that I missed last year is the 150 ish stud that I’m hunting for now! Just gonna have to leave the place alone for awhile now and hopefully they come back. It could be a blessing in disguise if you get a shot at the big one at some point!
Well time being the bastard that it is, I had all I can do to get into my blind in my yard tonight. Might have a doe come by but deffo not buck hunting from here
I’ll be hunting Friday night for sure this week possibly tomorrow evening as well. Saturday is the duck opener for us here in northern Illinois and I think I just got me a kick a$$ field to hunt Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
The magical days are going to start rolling in soon I am hoping to get some bucks in my area soon these cold temps and the beginning of the rut should start pushing them my way! Time to start dropping em!
El Capt. You gotta go see the buck Ben killed....holy @#$%. He is on team 20 He was a buck machine last year too....wonder I'd he will take me under his wing
I've been avoiding the small property where the new hunter was given permission this year. I finally went out today and there's no sign of the dude anywhere. I did find some monster scrapes though. I've cam-ed the same beech tree community scrape since 2013 and there are always giants hitting it. It's still early for that place, but I might just sit out there for fun this weekend.
