My wife got her first deer with a bow this evening. She was super happy. Lots of movement around here the past few days.

So I ordered a Kestrel tree saddle. Should have it the end of November. Can’t wait!

    Congrats Sooner!

An update on my season. Last week I officially started my season. I hunted Saturday morning and evening. Saturday morning I was on a ridge-top and had 9 doe pass by. I was going to take a doe, but waited. I typically shoot my doe after I get a buck. Saturday night was action packed. I sat the same property and was over about 4 acres of brassicas/beans that serve as a kill plot/transition area before they head out to the big ag fields. I saw 40 deer and 35 fed by me presenting a kill shot. In all 9 bucks fed by including 2 2 year olds and 2 3 year olds. I few great up and commers, however, not what I want to put my tag on. Best buck was likely 130. I will be back out for 5 sits Friday-Sunday and then dedicating 2-3 days a week to archery through Nov 17th. Good luck to all!

Got into my treestand at 6:00, that’s an hour before sunrise. I was hanging up my pack when a deer blew. I stopped working and it blew again and I could see movement about 25 yards behind me. It was still too dark so I sat and was quiet. About 1/2 hour later, still on the dark side two doe came out into view. One at about 35 yards and the other about 25 yards. I didn’t even have an arrow nocked yet. They would walk away and come back three times, always looking at me. The one that stayed further away turned out to be a buck. I could see his white tines but couldn’t tell how many. I was able to get an arrow nocked and ready they never gave me a shot opportunity. Beautiful morning!

I am actually in North Attleboro right now for work and it is absolutley beautiful. Would much rather be in a tree than working this morning. I live about 15min from the Cape and it was like 38 degrees when I left the house! Good luck this morning!

Coldest day of the season coming up here this sunday. Lows in the 40's. I had to strike a deal with the wife but I'll be in the stand. Hopefully it gets the deer moving.

I found this picture. Looks like a good, cheap way to keep corn off the ground. I looked at the home depot website and you can make two of them for about $30. I see a project in my future. 20181019_103727.jpeg

Well one of the best sits I’ve had in a long time. Seen 16 deer, 10 of them within 20yrds. Shot the lead doe and dropped in 30 yards. Had to stand still hugging my bow for over a hour because I was covered up in deer. 4 of the 16 were bucks and watched them spar at a distance and the basket 8 was 15yrds feeding around for 30 mins and working a licking branch. Lol was in a terrible tree I thought but turned out to be a great tree. I was only like 12 ft up and every time I would move the tree would move. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Nice. More points for us. I'm hoping to get a doe at the least this weekend. Good job, Captain.
