The public land hunt I’m doing next weekend is with Sean’s Outdoor Adventures as part of his Map Reading Challenge, a 2.5 day archery hunt on public. This video is from our scout trip in August.

Edit: I’m the taller guy in camo.

It’s finally here! Tomorrow is the day that I wait 9 months for, what a lot of us wait 9 months for. It’s a tradition of mine to take off work and that’s what will happen tomorrow so I can knock off the cob webs and work out the kinks! Weather isn’t great but it could be a lot worse. I still have 2 big deer showing up in day light but have no stands for the forecasted E wind . I will be heading out and the truck will take me where I’m supposed to go lol. Good luck to everyone that is going to make it out. I’m hoping to get a quick 50 points for us in the morning.

Shot a doe tonight so there's 50 points for the team. First kill with a crossbow on the first day of the season!

Awesome! Just remember, two photos, with your bow, date and time of kill on your scorecard post.

Well guys my year is made! I haven’t had a chance yet but my wife got it done last night on a very nice doe. After a discouraging year for her last year she was able to make a very good 15 yard shot to start her season off right! There was no exit hole and high lung on the entrance so she threw us for a little loop but the outcome couldn’t have been any better after a 100 yard track job. Now it’s my turn! You might have to just let her have your username if she scores a buck as well! :)

Hey guys. Sorry I've been out of the loop for a while but with showing he house, closing a week ago and scrambling to move myself and our six dogs to a temporary shack in Kentucky while we wait to close on our new house I haven't had any free time at all.

I went to the new place in Missouri today for the home inspection and now I will finally have a little bit of down time.

I was going to try to hunt tomorrow but I'm just not ready. I'll try to get in a stand Saturday morning.

My Kentucky spots are only about four miles from where I'm staying, so once I get started it should be a lot of fun. It will be short lived though.

We may be closing on the new place on the 15th.

I take part of that back. I did get my stuff ready so I'll be in a tree tomorrow morning.

Doe down for us guys. I’ll add her to the scorecard tomorrow but here’s my pics, the last one my wife did a little editing to it really quick tonight but I love the colors in it Image1538709155.962451.jpg . Well I know that I'm late posting but I sat the opener and did not see a thing but 2 racoons....oh well it has it's days I guess. I only hunted opening day as the rest of this week has been ungodly hot but is possibly going to have dropping tempatures in 2 weeks so probably take off then to hunt hard. This was the view from my stand, sitting right off the trail only about 20 yes.

Keep it rolling boys! I have had a week straight of rain and east winds and temperatures from 86 to 46 and now more rain. Worst weather I’ve ever experienced in a WI fall. My land is once again under water so it’ll be a little bit before I get out regularly probably. It’s the youth deer hunt this weekend as well and don’t think I’ll be getting out with my son for that either. Disappointing season so far, but lots of season left so not despairing......yet.

Well, I’m on hunt #3 of our 2.5 day public land hunt. First 2 sits had does close but the winds have been unpredictable and I’ve been busted. Feeling like a rookie but trying my best to get one down.

How is everyone doing? My wife and I made it out last night. I saw 2 bucks and she saw a few does. Nothing I wanted to shoot but nonetheless it was still nice to get out and sit! Good luck to all when you guys get out!

I didn't go at all this weekend because it's just so hot here. Cooler weather is on the way mid to late week so I definitely plan on being out then.

Just waiting for my water to recede again. Cooler temps on the way but more rain until then. Can’t get to most of my stands without waders right now. Knee boots just don’t cut it and don’t own any hip boots......yet.

    Good luck to everyone else!

Man that’s rough! I hope the rain stops and the water on your property recedes! I know for one that I am definitely pulling for you this year after the early season that you’ve had!

I finally made it to my public land marsh spot. More of an observation sit than anything but who knows.
