After a nice morning/afternoon of watching 5 does, it started to sprinkle. Looking at the radar it was only going to get worse so I decided to pack it up. I quivered the bolt, clipped my hoist line on the crossbow, and started lowering the bow over the side of my stand. Looking down, I was slightly surprised by the realistic looking 8 point directly under my stand. I quickly stopped the descent of my crossbow causing it to clink against my base. The "realistic" looking buck jumped nearly straight up and bounced about 10 feet downwind of me. He kept trying to see up through the leaves at whatever made that sound. I slowly pulled the swinging crossbow back up, got a bolt nocked, and the buck started pawing at the ground. He then circled out from under the tree and posed 10 yards away broadside. Total encounter less than 2 minutes. Pretty sure that I used all of my 2018 luck up on this deer.
Awesome, only thing better would to have had camera on video, go play the lottery, great job, congrats
The GoPro on the tree to the right only got the buck's head when I shot. I was looking at those new tactacam 5.0's until I saw the price.
