It was just plain nasty this evening, my thermocell was put to the test, but after the hurricane the mosquitos are so plentiful it just couldn't keep up. I haven't seen mosquitos like this since living in Alaska. Not to mention in was humid as hell. Im just ready for winter to kick in here in the great state of NC.

they're god-awful here in upper Midwest also. Awful in MI, awful in WI, awful in my backyard here in IL. The dogs don't even want to be outside to play for long. Weather isn't going to help much here for at least a week- temps still in the 80s next week.

Reminds me- everyone needs to get and keep their dogs on heartworm prevention. Heartworm infestation is a horrible way to lose a dog, and very expensive to treat once contracted.

I attempted my first sit on the 21st, those bastards made me turn around and leave. The skeeters were worse than I've ever seen in my life!!! I couldn't swipe them off of me fast enough. For sure a result of all the rain in the last several months!

I really don't like Summertime. Primarily because mosquitoes and ticks. They are a necessary evil especially here in NC and other states as well. Whoever invented the Thermacell should receive the Nobel Peace Prize! LOL!

I looked into some sprays/ remedies for my Son who gets torn up so I came to these Sawyer products.... I used them for the 1st time yesterday and was very satisfied with them.... and in the morning we saw 6 deer with 1 coming to within 15yds so no smell that would affect the deer and in the evening we were in the Ground Blind and my Son was fine. Give them a try

yeah, we'll see. Temps supposed to get back into the low 80s here again this week. Briefly, but there. Good/bad news for me is I won't be in a tree again until Oct 12, so there's still time for a hard frost. I'll need it, I'll be next to a cedar swamp and I'm sure the timber has been flooded the past month or so.

Central Michigan. Where I hunt in WI is actually near Roche A Cri in central WI. High and very dry. There's a swamp about 2 miles away that in October is where I'm pretty sure is the origin of the giant sucking noise from all the bucks leaving the property I hunt.

Despite there being -0- standing water anywhere w/in a mile of the property I hunt; I was covered by skeeters last Sunday. Just breezy enough that it blew my Thermocell away but not enough to keep the mosquitoes out of the air.

I went out yesterday to get a blind set up that I can take my son to and the skeeters were absolutely horrendous. Just awful. I think a good dousing of spray and a couple thermacells running in the blind will get us through an hour or two if we're lucky. I have never in my life seen them this bad this late into the year.

no relief in sight - IL and most of MI/WI not supposed to get lower than mid-40s at night (most nights warmer than mid 50s) with most days in the 60s-70s, and lots more rain in the 10 day. Looks like I am going to have to break out a mosquito net and the boonie hat.

Everyone in the woods is right there with ya lol I used a whole bottle of sawyers on my gear for yesterday’s evening hunt. Had a couple buzz my ear and fly away while in stand. While gutting my doe I was completely getting destroyed. Bad...have to believe the sawyers did the trick until I made myself a buffet for them lol.

I tried the Sawyer products and while it might have kept a few hundred away the remaining hundreds didn't seem to care. Couldn't stand the swarm of mosquitos for more than a few minutes. Hoping a freeze hits soon.

I can't help but grin evily:evilgrin: 3 " snowfalls" for us so far, Sept 23 and 2 days ago both had a nice blanket that melted and one day of spitting flakes. No mosquitos felt in over a month:evilgrin: IMG_20180922_150008532.jpg
