I bought a new Bear Approach in July. After shooting it a few times it started to show wear on the cables. I took it back and the olace I bought it from replaced the cables. The new cables started to show wear again after a few shots. Bear and the place I bought it from both told me it was normal and safe to shoot. The wear continues to look worse. Does this look normal?
I wish the pics were better, but from what I can see, that doesn't appear to be normal wear on the cable. Being as new as it is, I would take it back and get a different bow. Check your warranty. My Hoyt is 11 years old and the cables look brand new. Hope you get it squared away.
As stated earlier it appears that you may be having a serving issue but TBH your going to have to post some better photos.
my forge's cam does that on my cable serving over time, i called forge and the guy wasnt buying it and said its due to a lack of waxing, not due to the cam angle and serving separating at the cam bend. regardless, forge lost my business for the next time i ever upgrade
I would check for cam lean as it looks like wear due to cam as best as I can see from your pictures. Definitely not normal. My previous bow did that after a couple hundred shots. The serving would move apart and started to wear string until cam was repaired. Ended up replacing bow shortly after.
