I’ve found a spot a wanna paddle to C.F. Phelps via Rappahannock but it’s like 1.5 mi and I don’t think I can get that far back up stream against the current lol. That and I’ve read some horror stories about Phelps so I’m not to crazy about hunting it... but it’s in my backyard so I may end up hunting there a bit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That might be a solution Josh. I have a trolling motor and transom mount. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Had enough sitting on the side lines gonna drive 1.5 hrs do a southern MD hunt on some public land I never seen before. I’m told beans and sunflowers are planted right now (thank you Facebook). SW wind. Got a few spots in mind I’ll have to make a call in the morning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Been debating with myself on this... I wouldn’t hunt here cause its to close to parking. But look at all the decent spots do you think this could be over looked? To risky? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I always get nervous hunting around any fields or power lines on the public. However, if you go in and find sign, the heck with it...hit it! More importantly, have fun in the morning. Enjoy it buddy.
I’d give it a shot, one of my best spots in Ohio is right off a gravel road, big pitch point that goes to a creek. Always have deer cross the road and come right past my stand. First night I sat there (over 4 yrs ago) had a 140’s buck come right to me and I shot over his back at 30 yds. Been hunting it since and always see deer there.
I paddled for a darn mile and a half on Briery Creek today. You should have seen the structure and potential for huge bass. Only 3 guys on the lake on a perfect day. I should have brought my fishing gear.
Dude I would get no scouting done. I’ve always wanted to fish there. Took the y’all out to hunting run a couple weeks my first bass out of there was a 3lber. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
After careful consideration I think I will post up here tomorrow. Gonna get in nice and early. I’m assuming of course that field isn’t planted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Blue arrow is wind. I’m not really sure. It’s labeled as waterfowl hunting zone and I’ll be in that slim area between the restricted zone and that. I don’t think they would plant beans there so that leaves sunflowers or crp. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Vinton and Jackson county Ohio public lander here. Didn’t harvest last year but have my sights set on a few different 4 year olds that get the blood pumping! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Will be hunting some public land on a county park in South Central PA for opening morning on saturday have a great little set hung with a nice buck in the area and lots of does! Hoping to let the air out of something!
The hunting there is pretty good I've never harvested there myself but have always seen plenty of deer. I mainly focus on hunting the shed now. The part of Monocacy I do hunt is completely overgrown, at least it was three days before the season opened this year. I only get Saturday to hunt due to work.
Finally spoke to the farmer and he gave me access to the back end of the military base today. Half mile walk as compared to a 3 mile canoe trip plus a half mile to mile walk in the dark stump filled river. Place looks good. Time to put boots on the ground. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
