I hunt an area with frequent bear activity. however, on camera the deer vanish when they arrive, but always return within an hour of the bear leaving.. my question, stupid if it may be.. is there a way to speed this up. safely, for the bear and myself of coarse.. perhaps tossing a log or rock at the bear may get him to leave or just become curious.. would a pellet/bb gun inflict enough pain for it to leave and not come back for the evening, while still being silent and not leaving an odor like bear spray etc.
I think if I could buy a bear tag that the same bear would only disturb my hunt once. I mean my bow is pretty silent...
Black bear? Kick it off the site and shouldn't have to deal with it again. I personally always carry a sidearm especially with bears around
I was told by a hunter from Wisconsin one time that he carry’s a spare arrow with a field tip that has a washer between it and the shaft. Says he shoots the bear with it. Won’t penatrate because of the washer, and the bear shouldn’t come back. I only met him once from work, so don’t know if this is true or not, but maybe something you could mess around with and test on a Target first.
