The bowshop still hasn’t gotten my bow fixed. They say they are waiting on two other parts and they say are coming in next Tuesday. My season starts this next Sunday, the 23rd. It will be a tight squeeze getting it back and all tuned up and sighted in.

Did more scouting yesterday in a new spot. Walked for miles and didn’t really find anything that I wanted to hunt. Ready for the season to be here!

Hopefully your not getting the run around on your bow parts. I also spent some time crusing looking for dropping oaks. I found a few that still had mast, but nothing raining down the acorns. I think I have my opening day spot picked out. Opener this Saturday! I'm going to my family land tomorrow after work to check cameras, hopefully I'll have something good to share with everyone.

Oh man trust me I am already on it. I am talking with bowtech customer service and this bow shop. I have already raised hell on both ends. I’m definitely making sure I am lighting a fire underneath my bow shop. If they want to beat around a bush with me it wouldn’t be a smart idea. I am calling them both everyday so they stay on top of it. I need my bow back! Plus I don’t like yahoos messing with my bow. I do my own work for a reason

Good luck on getting your bow up to speed AJ, good luck to all those team members going out this weekend.
I plan to be back in KY in about a week, letting things cool down and getting the rain out of the way.

In stand opening night! Bumped one coming in only about 15 yards off of the road. Feels good to be out!

Hunt report. I saw 2 does and a 5 point buck cool to see, I'm not shooting a doe with the bugs this bad and the buck was to small. Great hunt to be back in the stand for a few hours.

Hey guys! Sorry I haven’t been too active on the team thread lately. I got out for opening day yesterday afternoon. It was hot as hell but why break opening day tradition? I got up in the stand at about 2:30 and sat until dark. I had an exciting encounter with a decent 8 pointer that got my heart rate up. He came in quick and caught a swirling wind right in one of my shooting lanes at 30 yards. It looked like he walked into a wall because he hit the breaks and immediately turned back the other way. He didn’t run but was definitely alert to my presence. If he had just stayed right there I could have shot him. Still not sure he’s a hit-lister yet, still very early in the season. He got me pretty jacked up though. Awesome first day. Here’s a camera pic of him last week.

Oh man I’m jealous you guys are in stands. Hard to wait until October 1st. All I know is if it doesn’t cool down I’ll be waiting even longer. 85+ degrees is too much for me to sit in a treestand. 25 degrees and I’ll be in all day.

I'm def jealous of all u guys hunting! I was able to pick up the Illinios river bottom lease from October 1-31 instead of the 1-15. I also picked up a 25 hp for my 17' foot Jon boat. That gives me access to a new public spot!

The final countdown is here, yet, I'm not as pumped as I thought I'd be. I will still be out opening weekend, but probably not as much as I anticipate until it cools down a bit. I made that mistake last year and only saw my good bucks once; quite sure I burned out my stand last year.

Looks like rain all weekend, if it's not dumping rain, I'll be in the stand. Sunday looks to be decent, we shall see what the rain does first.
    Weather report:
Friday: 89/69 20% Partly cloudy with stray showers/thunderstorms
    Saturday/Opening day: 85/67 60% Scattered thunderstorms
    Sunday: 78/65 60% Scattered thunderstorms
Solunar: Dang near a full moon, looks like a good weekend to sleep in and head to the stand around 10 am or 4/5pm.

I'm taking my bow to the shop today, I am having trouble with my groups. They are decent, but I'm not as tight as I used to be. I put some new strings on and just having trouble with something. Want to narrow down if it's me or the bow. I think it's me, but a good once over on the bow can't hurt.

Acorns have dropped, that plus the heat have slowed down my trail cams. We did come to a agreement on a price on a house yesterday! Right next to that public land too! I won’t get out if it is hot out until lat October when my vacation hits. We get a cold front(or moved in quickly) and I’ll be out. Good luck to all those hunting!

I'm out...in tight on some dropping oaks on public. Great fresh sign, rubs, and poop. IMG_20180918_174251467.jpg
