Looking at getting a new harness. What do you folks have or what would you suggest. Looking to get sobering under $75. Bs I wear it under my clothes so I don't need anything with pockets.
Look into something from Hunter Safety Systems and buy the best you can afford. Don’t go cheap on something that may save your life. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I completely agree, I've been just using the ones that come with stands. I've been looking at the Hunter Safety System and the Muddy ones.
I bought a muddy a few years back and am very happy with it. Not bulky doesn’t seem to tangle up when not being worn. I always have it on under my jacket or outer layer and just run the strap out the back of the collar, I don’t wear jackets with hoods. I don’t even know I have it on while hunting. Going to add treestand wingman to my safety set up this year.
I’ve been rocking (no pun intended) a rock climbing harness for the last few years. I’m an avid rock climber so I’ve always had one and I saw someone post about using it in the tree stand a while back. Made a lot of sense to me as they’re lighter, less obtrusive, and much better in a fall. Since they attach in the front, if you fell from a tree you’d be facing it so it’s much easier to get back in and there’s no risk of suspension trauma like a full body treestand harness. They’re also much cheaper generally. A good quality harness can be had for at or under 50 bucks and they much more comfortable. I use a black diamond momentum and I think I picked it up at rei for 40 bucks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
X2 for a Muddy. Had a HSS and returned it. Got a Muddy and couldn’t be happier. So $75 is all you life or mobility is worth?
Rock climbing harness 100000%. Cheaper and more comfortable. think about how much time rock climbers are hanging by their harness. I used to go to a gym and it seemed like they would spend more time suspended by the harness than actually climbing
I have two different Hunter Safety harnesses. One is the vest style, which I like. But the one I use the most is the X-1 Bow Hunter harness. I used it during bow and gun season. During the cold weather I put it on before I put my coat on so there is not any adjustments for clothing.
I have one of these, works great to wear underneath. Its in your budget and is a solid option. https://www.amazon.com/Hunter-Safet...672287&sr=8-15&keywords=hunters+safety+system
I ended up picking up a 100 dollar one Fri Hunter Safety Systems. It feels comfy enough without being in the woods yet. We'll see how it goes tomorrow! Opening day! The shops near me didn't have a Muddy one with the clips for the legs and chest.
I bought a Muddy a number of years ago. Great harness! When I do actually wear it, I can hardly tell it's on me.
I know you’ve already bought yours but to anybody else looking, Mideay USA has the HSS Elite for $60. Normally $150 Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
