Sometimes... I stopped because it was tough to get off and gave me a ton of acne. Got some natures paint and its off easier and doesnt give me acne, but I dont really wear it that much. Theres not really a reason I do or dont put it on but if I do wear it, its in the early season.
I am not a woman, so I never wear make up for any reason. Wearing it while hunting doesn't keep it from being make up.
I do for evening hunts. My daughter's have always had a traditional makeup for dad ceremony. As they get older I only have it on from time to time. But I am quite secure in my masculinity so don't mind.
I don’t wear anything, my face is so ugly the deer can’t tell I’m human anyway. I use a mask Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I wear facepaint most times while bowhunting, like others said wear glasses so face mask dont work out too well. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I use a facemask instead of paint. I have several for outside temperatures, lighter ones for early season and polar fleece ones in late season, colder temperatures.
for you guys with glasses, try a Buff. It lays tight to the skin without being uncomfortable but is breathable enough that it allows your breath to escape. If it's too tight to keep over your nose comfortably; you can always place it directly below your nose.
Do I use face paint? Only when I'm on the warpath. It's getting damn near impossible to get proper eagle feathers for my head dress though so I don't go full on warrior chief as much as I used to. I never use face paint, no. I have been a big fan of Neck Gaiters for a long time. I use thin ones in warm weather and thicker ones in cold weather. I like to get the long ones, I pull them around like a ninja mask. In cold weather they are a huge help to keep you warm. They're cheap and effective and I don't have to piddle puk around with the mess of paint. The last ones I bought were treated to keep skeeters off and worked great. Bought them off Amazon. They were labeled as Buff UV headband.
No face paint for this hunter. Besides word is that it has to be applied in some sort of tribal design to work properly. I’ll refrain from posting what my thoughts are when I see a hunter all painted up.
Deer hunting, I wear a thin face mask. Elk hunting calls for carbon face paint, at least the first 4-5 days. After that, the beard is heavy enough to cut the shine.
They don't work with glasses & placing the buff just below the nose in cold weather results in a snotty buff.
huh. I've worn mine with sunglasses (glare from snow) and not had fogging, but maybe mine sit far enough off my face or there was a breeze taking the vapor away.
Yes. When playing squaw and Big Chief... wait... what are we talking about? OP - this may be too personal of a line of questioning for a hunting forum.
No. I don’t feel it really makes a difference as much as scent and movement. I’ve had deer State me straight in the eye, multiple times and if I froze, controlled my breathing, I had no issues. I also wear glasses bowhunting. Key to me is height in the tree to the bottom of overhead branches, good blending backdrop, become part of the tree, don’t move, play the wind, sit still, when moving , look first, move slowly. Gotta be ninja because that’s what bowhunting is. I’ve shot many animals with jeans and a camo shirt and camo hat . Blue is supposed to be an offense to a deer like Red is to a bull. Not if you don’t move or stink it’s not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes-occasionally- I wear a buff too sometimes but I hate having to pull it down everytime I go to range something, look through binos ect.
The struggle when it comes to glasses huh? Man thats some kinda aggravating when you have a mask on and your glasses get fogged. Drives me crazy. Going get contacts just for hunting.
