bias alert- why is it important for the author to (seemingly derisively) note that a supportive senator is a budget hawk and "fan boy of the Koch Brothers"? It is not against conservatism or libertarianism to advocate that private companies who profit from pubic goods profit share back to the public. Support of a government program which does not cost taxpayers a dime would seem to be mostly in line with libertarianism and certainly with conservatism. The article was interesting and informative; the biased tinge was enlightening for a whole different reason. Full disclosure- I hate many of the things the Koch Brothers advocate for and spend money on...but to bring them into this as a red-herring means to denigrate the Senator in question was pretty low.
A good author with journalistic integrity can write a story or article without the reader knowing the authors political beliefs, at least that was what I was taught in college.
