Drury Outdoors recently released their “DeerCast App” The App uses an algorithm based on several conditions such as barometric pressure, moon, wind speed, wind direction, temperature, cloud cover ect and it also factors in the time of year. Has anybody had a chance to use it yet? I downloaded it and plan on using it this fall. It looks like it will at least save me some time checking 3-4 different places To find out different weather conditions.
I downloaded the app and will use it this year since it's free for the first year. Very interested in seeing how accurate it is.
I downloaded the app as soon as it came out and bit i have used it its been quite accurate and very useful. Looking forward to using it in the fall!
downloaded it, everyday has been "good" since its been out for me...wish I could read about why it said what it said instead of having to watch a video everytime

I don’t really care about the deer movement prediction aspect BUT I love having all the weather aspects in one place. I won’t be uninstalling weather underground anytime soon but I will use it. Honestly, my favorite part of it so far is the access to all the Drury DVDs from days of old. The Drurys get two thumbs up from me. Wired to Hunt had a pretty good podcast recently with Mark and Mark explaining the app and deer movement prediction. I downloaded it but haven't really been able to put it to the test yet. Put me in the group that will still use Weather Underground App but really like to have the conditions this algorithm is pulling from all in one place. I check these conditions multiple times per day during hunting season to see if anything is changing.
Honestly, they are good people through a camera lense. A good friend of mine worked for them and they are aholes to their neighbors and employees. They shoot some incredible deer and are very good at what they do, but I refuse to support them in any way for the way they treated a few that I know.
They probably have to be a-holes to their neighbors. I can only imagine the amount of people who trespass or try to trespass on their properties. As far as employees saying they are treated poorly, well I'm sure you can find just as many that say they are the best people they've ever worked for. It's the same with any job in the world. Sometimes bosses have to be tough.
I get that. Actually the neighbor thing makes total sense. I just think in business and in life there’s a difference between tough and unethical. Not disputing your point just my personal viewpoint.
I wish it showed when the moon is overhead and underfoot. From what ive heard mark say, rise/set time has nothing to do with movement and its all about when its overhead/underfoot. I don't understand why they would only put rise/set if this is the case.

I probably shouldn't take the bait on this one - but seriously? This App (heck any app) is just another tool - it's really not a contentious thing. Until you try to make it one. I agree with the premise of your post - it's a bit ridiculous to think that this app could dictate when someone hunts. But do you really need the internet and the bowhunting.com forum in particular to be able to discuss, learn and engage about hunting? Going to hell in a hand basket if so... I mean it's basically the same thing, no? The majority of people on this forum that are discussing the app are pretty seasoned hunters. Most of them will use all information and technology in a responsible way. Meaning - the app isn't telling them when to hunt. It's just providing more information and the more information you have the better. I mean you could keep going - people don't need to trail camera data to figure out where they are going to hunt either - but they use it.
