Well it's about that time for many of our seasons to get started. I know Tony has been tied up a good bit lately, can somebody ring the bullpen to see if he'd honor us or should we seek out a new free agent?

Creator God, As we begin this hunting season we first just want to say thank you. Thank you for your goodness. Thank you for all that you have made for us to enjoy. When you made this earth you had us in mind. You knew we’d want to explore your world and see all the wonders in it. We are grateful for the ability to get up and see the sunrise. Not all are so privileged. We are blessed to live in this country where we have the freedoms to hunt as well. You were the one that created the adrenaline that rushes through our bodies after the shot. For all this and more we say thank you. We pray for safety this season for all those in the woods. We ask that you’ll protect our steps wherever we go. Give us wisdom to make smart choices. Allow us to keep our priorities straight and return to our families after each hunt. Whether we are up in the tree or up in the mountains, please keep us safe. We ask that you watch over our families as we hunt. We know that some understand our passion and others may not. Help us to maintain the balance of being a good hunter but moreso a good husband, father, son, wife, mother, daughter...etc. Help us to keep our priorities straight. Protect our families while we are gone. And father we pray for our hunts. May we enjoy your creation on days when it’s good and on days when it’s not. We ask that we become better hunters by the end of the season. We know you teach us more than just about hunting while we are out there. Teach us Father. And we ask when that moment comes, and we pray that it will, that you’ll help our aim to be sure and we make a good shot. You’ve entrusted these animals into our care since the beginning. May we care enough to make an ethical shot. May we pursue every blood trail with utmost diligence. And may we enjoy the meat that you provide us. I pray that we might also encourage the next generation of hunters. It’s easy to make the season all about us but I pray you’ll enable us to pass on this passion to someone who hasn’t experienced it before. Once again we say thank you. We get so excited for this time of year. I believe you have put the desire to hunt into our hearts. May we not only pursue the creation but also the Creator. Teach us more about who you are. Amen, May everybody have a safe season and your freezer be full come end of season. Be thankful for what you have, there are people that are less fortunate.
