I have two kids that live on opposing sides of a 320 acre half section and they like to cut through the place to get to one anothers houses, no big deal. It's just pasture and a few creeks. They're good about being good, always ask if they can roam the creeks and will call me if they spot odd things, just a couple of good natured kids. One day while morel mushroom hunting I spot what appears to be a clubhouse they built and I go to check it out. Imagine my surprise when I find a couple of methheads half naked and cooking meth! In their uncontrollable body shakes and speech they beg my not to call the law and try to negotiate some sort of deal with me. Needless to say my 45 has never been known to make any other deals than helping the ones on the other end of it to get a shiny new pair of bracelets.

This was about 6 years ago, but I remember it like 10minutes ago. I was trying to get this fox that was the epitome of sly. We estimate he ate like 22 chickens in one summer. It Was missing a good amount of fur off his front leg. Right in the middle of his boot so this fox was very easily identifiable .

I was sitting in my car down an easement on my family's property door open lightly calling. Started to get a little too dark to see out of my scope. So I close the door, turn on the head lights and turn toward home. In the middle of the easement I see eyes reflecting. About foot or so off the ground. Definitely not a fox. The angle my headlights were pointed I could just barely make out the top of its back. I have never seen this animal.100 percent this is not a Virginia animal. I settle the scope. The gun action is still open and the bullets are in the cupholder but I just had to look. The creature takes flight about 8 feet off the ground and starts to figure 8. Like a bat around a streetlight. Exactly like that. This thing is abnormally large to be a bat. More like a flying raccoon in size. The wing span I notice though. Its incredibly short. Like there is no reason this thing should be flying . internally freak out. I grab a 22 250 round, top load it and resettle the scope prettymuch in the middle of the flight path. In my mind in thinkin "I am not driving under this thing". But I really want to wrap my mind around it. Right before I let it rip. The creature drops to the ground and scurries off into the woods on four legs. I could hear the feet clutching the leaves as it ran. About 6 foot falls and then silence.

wasnt while hunting but one of our cams got several sheriff deputies walking a cuffed inmate through our private property, when we saw pictures we called sherriff, they stated that an inmate knew where a body was hidden...
they didnt find it, but we knew the location they described, and based on other cameras they didnt go check there...

Dude. Nothing runs on 4 legs and flies. I looked it up afterwards but subconsciously I knew that when it happened.
It was on my way out and my passenger side window didn't go up at the time. It took 2 people to put it up Lol. Skeered bud. Real Skeered

Yep - It’s one thing to have said that without thinking in surprise and on the spur of the moment but it’s another thing altogether to relate that to other people as a “cool story”. That’s the kind of thing you should be ashamed of and file away as a regrettable mistake you wish had never happened.
