I have a cool picture option for the Avatar. Also my wife does graphic design and I could ask her to come up with something but I am good with whatever you come up with.

It’s our “lawnmower” genetic where the tines look like they’ve been run over by a mower. Always have a buck or two running around with similar characteristics.

Lastoneout them are some pretty awesome pictures, however others with much more tallent could come up with anything and I'm cool with it. AaronB that is a pretty decent buck, but your right it looks like all his tines are the same length all the way around! Hopefully next year he grows out of that.

So what’s some of you guys early season strategies? Seems we’re mostly from the Midwest. I hunt some field edges for eve hunts but do a mixture of big woods and swamp areas as well.

I'll be concentrating on travel corridors and entrances to and from Ag fields. One of the pics I posted is where they are entering and exiting a corn field. I found it about a month ago quite by accident, and I placed a camera there and it paid off. Later in the year I will move closer to the doe bedding areas and try to cut off the cruising bucks.

Shoot a doe the first week or two on the field edges and then rest the property until the 3rd week of October. That’s been my strategy the last handful of years on my property. Just how ours is set up, early season buck activity is minimal because much of our property isn’t wooded. We duck hunt on a portion as well from Oct 1st thru about the 18th and then switch to deer.

My son did shoot a nice buck during the youth hunt on Oct 8th last year, but in general it hasn’t been great early season for me.

I plan to hunt the travel corridors for the first part probably. Then very end of october starting into nov. Move into the big woods areas such as bedding areas and possibly a few points that bucks i've seen frequenting. Kinda playing by ear and sight and I have roughly 6 different plans as hunting public ground is always different every year, as you all know. So that's my "tenative" plan until plans change.

I too will focus on travel corridors and staging areas early. I put in THE STAGING PLOT of staging plots early this summer in a spot that was impenetrable 2 years ago that is going to be killer all year long with a bullet proof entry and exit route but it is going to be a buck only spot. As of now I’ve got 4 big shooters working through there and if I have the right conditions and the bucks are still using it frequently in the early part of the season I will be either on it or near it. If the bucks aren’t there early and in the daylight I will focus on getting some meat in the freezer from either a big oak flat on a different property or a bean field that was planted really late and should be nice and green still.

Gents, kind of a fun thing our team did last year was throw together a little prize package for top points finisher for the team. I want to pay it forward (since I won last year) and do the same. If anyone wants to throw something in to sweeten the pot, even better. I will throw in a middle of the road trail cam in the $60-$80 range and batteries and an SD card.

Everyone is in. It's just a matter if anyone else wants to contribute something to the giveaway. Like I said, since I won last year on my team, I just wanted to pay it forward. No obligation to anyone else to contribute anything, but thought I'd throw it out there.

What’s up everybody, hopefully you had a good weekend! I got out yesterday to set up a ground blind and brushed it all in on that new plot, checked the camera there, and hung another one. As of right now all of my shooters are still coming in with a lot of day light activity between 7:30-9 am and 7-8:30 pm. I can only cross my fingers that they get used to the blind and continue what they’re doing through the first week or so of October. I will post some pictures tonight if I remember.
