So I’m looking into some Lacrosse alphaburly pro boots. I live in NE Ohio and hunt in some pretty cold weather. How much insulation do you guys recommend? 800g? 1000g? Or 1600g? These are also the boots I will be using for the entire season.
I have a pair of the alpha burly in 800, there not super hot in the early season and with good socks can handle lower temps come November/December. Even with 1600 boots late in the season and good socks it’s still not enough warmth for me, but my feet get cold fairly easy.
I know you already got the boots. But I hunt in Minnesota/SE Wisconsin. Got a pair of the Alphaburly in 1600. They are mighty toasty in the early season and even into Late November if you are doing a lot of walking you'll sweat with them. I kinda wish I would've got the 1000 Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
IMO for deer hunting where you will be walking a lighter insulation factor is better. I’d go with 600 or 800 maximum and buy them a size big for air insulation. I have a pair of 1200 and the only time I wear them is when I’m in the goose pit
I’m a stand hunter in central MN. I have the 1600 and they are just right for cold mornings rifle hunting. Feet have never gotten cold with a pair of merino wool socks hunting or ice fishing. One of the best purchase I’ve made in a long time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
