    43 yds, complete pass through using 100 gr Montecs. Bull went 40 yds and went down...

    I'd say you were pretty tuned.
    I disliked your "knock off" post. I will now "un" dislike it.
    Montecs are not the sharpest tool in the shed (see what I did there?) but they fly great and do the job. They are very popular for elk which are not exactly "small or medium" sized. Also; I know we're off topic here but many if not most of us here would agree that generally it's better to have 2 small holes in an animal than 1 big one. Mostly.

    If you must use a cheap-ish mechanical head Bass Pros are pretty good (clones of NAPs) and also Carbon Express actually makes really underrated broadheads, both fixed and mechanical. You can find the CX heads for about $20/3 or less if you web shop around.
