I didn't know the background of that. I hate Rucker's version of that song. Googled OCMS' version and I like that. The funny video helped.

girl's got some pipes and that guy picking the mandolin rocks it.

Quentin Tarantino banging the drums with kitchen utensils is a bonus.

Yeah just like that hack Pastsy Kline singing Willy Nelson's songs. I think you would be surprised the % of country singers recording other peoples songs.

Nah that doesn't surprise me at all. My point was that the song was already well known but wasn't a "hit" until a main stream guy covered it. And yeah that happens a lot. I just don't like main stream country as it is today.

You are the first person I have ever heard mention Casey Donahew. Been listening to him for years.

I like some Stoney Larue, Down In Flames is probably my favorite by him.

I liked it for awhile but just like local radio after a year or so you realize they play the same 100 songs over and over again.

Pandora has the same issue if you don't drill down and specifically add content it will fall into a stale loop. Just thumbing up/down doesn't nudge it into expanding your list as much as it used to. I suspect they are trying to nudge us into the subscription side.

Going to see him next Thursday. Someone mentioned him doing a bunch of covers, I personally really enjoy his version of "Brand New Man"... May even be better than Brooks N Dunn
