I appreciate all the feed back! Thanks alot and I'll update when I get home and score him myself. I'll get it done professionally in the next couple weeks.
Well I rough scored it when I got home and this is what I came up with I'm sure I messed up somewhere..
From what I see you don’t have a g4 point, so I’ll m not sure where your 10 inch g4 measurement is from, so minus those off, and also your 3rd and 4th mass measurement will be the same, you use your 3rd mass measurement as your 4th mass measurement since it’s a 8pt, so you’ll gain a little there, so I believe scores about 130 and will gross a little higher. Nice buck
You pretty well have it other than the 20” of G4s that you shouldn’t have counted. So he’s basically 130” which is a great 8 pointer.
H3 and H4 are not always the same on a deer without a G4. H4 measurement must be taken from half-way between the G3 and the tip of the main beam. measure the main beam from the center of the G3 to the tip of the beam, divide by 2, and mark the beam at that point. That’s the place you measure the H4 on a deer without a G4. If it’s was a nine point you’d take the regular H4 measurement between the G4 and then use the above referenced to measure the side without the G4.
Sorry, your correct. I was thinking of a 3pt side where you would use the same measurement, his mass measurements would be correct as he measured them.
I killed a nice eight in 2002 a out that size without as much mass and it scored 139. So I'd say somewhere in the 140's. Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I killed an eight point that was dead on 150" a couple years ago. The only difference was it had about 8" brow tines and a few more inches of spread so I would guess this deer in the low 130s. Very nice buck!
