In fact i think its a total scam that they have differnet price level of the same string. I can see chargeing extra for add ons like speed nocks or nonstandard serving material. However the string is built one way and one way only, either you build it correctly or you dont and it isnt anymore expensive to build it correctly. Some some good string builders are Hutch from Bowstring depot, Berthern( johns custom archery) twisted X, JBK, park and sons. All will get you a well built set without gouging you on diffent price levels.
The different price levels are different quality strings - they use different materials and a different build process for each type of string. So yes, it does cost more for the top of the line strings. You're also working with a reputable company who has not only made hundreds of thousands of strings not just for end users but for a ton of bow manufacturers, and a company with a reputation of standing behind their products.
You can order and buy a 452x or bcyX string and cable from anyone of the top builders for about 90 shipped. Honestly you can even get some cheaper then that and get very high quialiy build. Top builders who do hundreds of string sets a year...like Brethern, Ex wolverine, Hutch, Hog wire, bart shortall are getting about 90. 159 and 139 are totally overpriced. As for " different building processes" ...total bunk.
I do tend to use the same thinking as Trial. I have always been more than satisfied by every string set I have ever ordered from Hutch at Bow String Depot and I usually, like Trial said, pay less than any other of the bigger names like ABB....$90 for quality strings and great customer service! Not knocking any other peoples choices when it comes to their bow strings, but my choice has been BSD for the past 4 years and I have nothing but good things to say about them and their operation!
have never had any abb strings, but what i will say is Extreme Bowstrings makes nice stuff, gets it shipped quickly and is a lot less $$ i am not affiliated with them outside the fact that im a customer http://www.extremebowstrings.com/
Americas best are the best on the market hands down with the best customer service it's all I use on any of my bows. I've used many of the other brands and lower builders not going to drop names and there nothing to compare to ABB sorry to say. I have ABBs on my rx1 right now been using them for 4 years now will never use anything else after trying these.
I've tried a few of the larger ones. Never had much luck. I will say outta the big names ABB was the best outta those...still not great. I'll stick with Hutch at Bowstring Depot...best I've used. Quality built and customer friendly. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk
Never had an issue with Bow String Depot. The lady that took my call asked me more questions than I had answers for, had my strings quickly and I do not think I've ever paid $90 for a set of strings, somehow, I always catch them during a sale. Not to say others have bad strings, my experience is with BSD, and they've always taken care of my string needs.
Not to change the subject off o ABB but has anyone ever used LANCASTER archery custom strings. I live 15 minutes from there and it would be super convenient to drop now off and have them take care of it. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
