Fill my freezer with venison! We ran out quickly after I ate tag soup last year. Also looking forward to scouting out some public land places that I have not had a chance to do so far.

Get in better shape! Climbing 20ft in the air at 230lbs is a little harder than it was a few years back when I was 190lbs. Improve my shooting form from the stand. Prepare for the season sooner.

Help my 10 year old daughter get her first deer. Anything else would be icing on the cake.

Kill the 2 bucks I am chasing. One I have been chasing for 4 years and the other for 2 years.

Main thing is to always have a blast. Learn something every hunt ( this is hard sometimes). Kill A mature buck. Kill a doe or 2 for the freezer. Not let frustration overpower rational and smart decision making. Know when to stay out of the woods when conditions are unfavorable, no matter how much I want to be in the tree. And of course most importantly not fall out of the stand. If I can manage at least 2 of the above it’ll be a good season :tu:

The past few seasons I’ve been able to hunt Kansas and Nebraska, but have never shot a buck in both states in the same season. I’d like to do that this year. I also have a great antelope hunt lined up, this will be my 6th time going out west for speed goats, and I have never connected with one. Hopefully the 6th time’s the charm!!

Just to get out a field would be an acomplishment. I can see why people say that when they have a problem.Just getting a field is a problem for me. I'll be able to shoot my crossbow this year and that's it. can't believe i'm going hunting again .Yeah.

I want to shoot a whitetail from the ground... I cant afford to go out west and hunt spot and stalk on anything so I wanna try to simulate that as much as I can

Really? What area you hunting for antelope? I'm going back to Wyoming in September. I have never had an issue filling tags there, and I hunt public land.

I killed 1 whitetail from the ground. Last season I shot a nice doe about 31 yards!! IMG_1468.JPG.jpeg
I still prefer hunting from a tree stand!! But best of luck to you!

I'm easy to please. I'll be happy if I can just experience something that actually resembles the rut! :tu:

I just want to log as much time in the stand as possible. I have not hunted hard for the last few years since my Dad (my hunting buddy) had brain surgery and lost his ability to hunt. It was always just him and me bow hunting together, so when he lost his ability to hunt it really hit me harder than expected. However, I have slowly been able to make peace with it and I feel that I am ready to put in 100% this year.

    1) kill a cow elk for the freezer
    2) kill the double drop tine mule deer that i've been watching for 4 years. Won't score much now but he is really neat. Peak would have been about 210" but he is now in that 170 range
    3) have fun

    1. Make time to hunt,
    2. Make a bow kill from the ground,
    3. Hunt some old national Forest spots that I used to hunt a long time ago/trip down memory lane....
