I've been shooting a PSE X-Force for the last 8 years, and my son has been shooting a Matthews, he recently purchased a new Hoyt REDWRX Carbon, and he loves it, I shot it a few times, and it convinced me to buy one also, and I was ready to update anyway, but I do love my PSE. After we give them a through run I will update and let everyone know what WE think compared to our other bows. Thanks, joe

Getting to really put different bows against each other is a great experience. It opens your eyes to the tiny differences between brands. Let us know your thoughts
HOYT ALL THE WAY In My family two of my boys shot a Mathews one shots the BowTech and I shoot the Hoyt. They all have killed elk and deer. The Hoyt fits me well so that is why I lean that way
For myself personally I an blessed to work in a pro shop and get to shoot bows as much as I want. So when I shoot a bow it must have several things for me to shoot it 1. Efficiency I want to bow to shoot my arrow as fast as it possibly can. 2. It needs to be quiet 3. Not the bow but I myself must be accurate and precise with it 4. In my budget The bow that met all the criteria above for me was the Mathews triax shooting a 590-grain arrow @ 255 fps 70# 28”. 58 DB was the loudest and once i added a stabilizer to the front my pin float settled down and i was back slapping shafts. I am not a fanboy by any means and you will be able to see that by the different bows hanging in my basement. I have a PSE Drive, a Bear Motive 6, and my last purchase was a Hoyt Carbon Spyder. The Hoyt was a leftover bow that I bought at a friend of mines bow shop and I love shooting the Hoyt. I enjoy shooting all three bows but was also thinking of shooting the new REDWRX. My only fear is that I don't think that there are enough changes/innovations/upgrades made to new bows every year to justify buying a new bow every year. I am working up to shooting the new Hoyt so keep us updated as to what you think of the new REDWRX.
I own PSE, Hoyt. I have a carbon spyder zt, pro defiant, and RX1. Personally, I love my RX1 and Carbon Spyder ZT. Much more than the pro defiant. The ZT hyper cam is more like the Z5 cams. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk
Dang everyone saying the pse evolve cam is smooth has me wanting to find a otherone to try. Shot the evolve 35 at my local shop a few days ago and didnt find it smooth at all. Bow was set at 55 lbs and a 29 inch draw which I’m a 27 inch. Didn’t care for the grip , but did feel real stable at full draw and really moved my 484 grian arrow. Shot the pse source hd and liked it a lot better. All think the hoyt hyperforce is a nice shooting bow.
i shot the triax just a couple days ago, and while dead in the hand after shot it just didn't do it for me. i also recently shot a bowtech realm, and that thing was amazing. havent shot the new hoyt because i wont be spending that much on a bow if i do get a new bow. ive been shooting a carbon knight for last several years and it just works for how i hunt so looking at $1,000 - 1,500 is difficult for me.
I am very impressed with the older Z5 cams on my Hoyt Carbon Spyder. The draw cycle is very smooth, in fact I have my Hoyt set at 65# and all of my other bows are set at 59# and 60# due to shoulder issues and the Hoyt draws easier and smoother even with 5 extra pounds. I can only imagine how the new RX1 cams feel.
I can remember shooting a High Country Sniper bow many years ago set at 80# and it performed about half as good as todays bows set at 55# to 60#. I guess that shows my age a little. So many of us need to get over the macho feeling of being able to shoot 70# plus especially when 60# is more than adequate. I think that I read somewhere that Ted Nugent has even shot elk with a 52# bow, it's all in the shot placement.
I prefer Hoyt myself, but I have friends that shoot all three. I think everyone leans one way or another. I have a friend that shoots PSE and despises Hoyt and has had incredible success and vice versa. If I would ever sway away from Hoyt for whatever reason, I would lean towards getting a Mathews. I honestly don't think I could ever see myself going back to PSE after buying a few of their bows in my earlier years, but that's just me talking.
I used a PSE Drive LT the past two years and just got a Mathews Halon 6 this year. As soon as I took the first shot out of the Halon, I felt a big difference in how the two shot. The Mathews draw cycle and back wall were worlds better then the Drive LT. I loved my Drive LT but have enjoyed the Halon a lot more.
