I just got a new hunting property and going to hang trail cameras I saw a piece of the property that was fenced off and gated off with two sheds a fire ring a thing built to put pulley systems on for gables so I went and asked the land owner what that was all about and he told me the person who hunted it for the last couple of years built it like a deer camp he'd haul his camper in park it for the season had a well dug and electric ran to it and would keep his camper there until the end of season then haul it back out. Since the deer are use to this would it be good to keep it that way so I can have a deer camp on the property or tear it all out and make it into a food plot? The well and power will make it easier to get a deer processed and cooled on site. If you already have power and water why waste it?
My buddy's 40 acres in WI has the camper permanently set up about a third of the way in... we shoot deer w/in sight of it. Neighbors property has same basic set up with his camper being less than 40 yards from the property line. Had the biggest buck I've ever had a chance at walk right past that camper like it wasn't there right to me (could not get a shot). Deer are used to them being there and pay them no mind as long as we keep it quiet. But make sure you're not disturbing any bedding areas...travel routes can take pressure but not bedding areas.
I'd probably keep it all unless they were in poor condition. I would guess the electricity is probably shut off and would cost to have it back on. If the well still works, you can run it from a generator and have water access when working the land.
cheap camper or even a mobile home not much invested but comfy---keep it, oh by the way make sure to have a quiet sliding window installed
The electric company told me it'd cost me $120 to have it turned on and the minimum payment a month will be $20-30 depending on how much power I use. Question is how do you plan cool a room to 30-40 degrees? I'm sure some guys here have built it but spent some money. I say Skin and quarter outside and put them in coolers. I've heard of people modifying chest freezers to cool to that temp without freezing the meat.
