So i'm looking at getting a side by side. I'm a fan of Yamaha, but I'm open minded. I'd like to be able to run a snow plow, Spreader, Spray tank, and possibly pull some small food plot attachments. Here's the ones I'm currently looking at.

    ~Yamaha Viking 14' 4x4 eps se, Used, 686cc, 617 miles, $10,000

    ~Yamaha Woverine 16' 4x4, New, 708cc, $9500

    ~ Honda Pioneer 500 16' 4x4, Used, 237 miles $7900

    Any suggestions, ideas, recommendations? Thanks.

The pioneer 500s are awesome because they're small. But they're small..... how tall are you?

My husband is 6' 3" he doesn't have much knee room in the 500. We're saving up for a pioneer 1000.

My hunting buddy has the viking. It is pretty awesome. My only dislike about it is that it's loud.

Are we looking for a true workhorse or a fun/utility side by side? How fast does it need to go?

I'm 5' 8". It doesn't need to be fast. We will use it for rec, but I'm past the "gotta be the fastest horse in the race phase",.....Maybe.

We had a Pioneer 500 and didn't like it all that much. We ended up getting the Pioneer 700. Love that machine.

Does everything we need it to do on the farm and is great for trail riding.

It'll be used mostly around the property. Getting up and down the ridges to get to the lake. Establishing/maintaining food plots. Firewood. Hunting.

Personally I would look for something a bit bigger than the 500. It just didn't seem like it had enough "oomph."

That was my concern about the Honda. I like the price point, it would allow me to get a few extra attachments. It seems like it'd be fun on the ridges, but will it perform power wise? I'd also have to get a small trailer to pull since it doesn't have a bed.

If you're looking for using attachments and pulling a trailer, get the 700 or 1000.

Out of your choices above, I'd pick the viking.

We've got a 500 pioneer for farm, it's the 4 seater option with the bed though. It's pretty decent for what we need but the comment was made other day that when it's time to upgrade would rather have the 700 or 1000. It gets used for doin chores and seeding down clover so don't know about pulling trailer or working food plots but sounds like for your needs I'd look at other options based off what I've experienced. One thing that would help with that is think the bigger machines have a high and low, one we got doesn't, so that might make a difference if that's the case in the one your looking at. But like said I can't honestly say how it would handle a trailer or anything.
