Turkey roots change depending on available food. The best thing you can do is 2 or 3 weeks before the season opens is do some walking around and scouting and look for the most bird signs. Then the night before your hunt go to the area you picked from scouting and watch the birds to what tree they go roost in. Come back an hour or so before sun up and put your blind up 100 or so yards away put out a jake and a hen decoy and wait for them to come off roost and start calling. I bet you'll get a bird opening day doing that. It works every year for me.....

∆∆∆ That's good advice up there. Often, I "help" them roost the night before I hunt them. I'll walk around to keep them from finding a different area off my property...Not close walking that scares them...Far off where they see me, but not threatened. Set up early the next morning as he said with Jake & hen(s)...Warm up the grill!
