This year I am going to be looking at purchasing a Drone for taking videos and photos of my land management projects as well as some hobby filming. Just curious what everyone's opinions are in regards to the best drones on the market, and what are the pros/cons of them? Thank you in advance!
I have a friend who is a drone nut. He is a huge fan of DJI. I bought my son a DJI Phantom for Christmas and I'm pretty impressed with the ease of use and all around quality of it. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Depends on exactly what you are looking for. DJI is king for sure. I'll be picking up a Mavic Pro this Spring. With it's small size it's much easier to haul around than the Phantoms.
I have looked at DJI since many use them with good results but the Yuneec Typhoon H is what I would like to buy, just can't afford it. among the features of the Typhoon is Intel RealSense technology. Don't forget to get licensed!
Autel X Star Premium is the best bang for your buck. Check out videos on YouTube about it. Best Drone for the Money! Autel X-Star Premium Drone Review - YouTube Sent from my SM-S902L using Tapatalk
I was such a Phantom fan (especially all the features that are on the Phantom 4 Pro), but after watching some reviews and video from the Mavic, I just love how portable it is, and it really does hold it's own. I think for guys in this field of video (hunting/outdoors), the portability in itself is really a major plus.
I bought the DJI Phantom 3 Standard but returned it and got the Autel. You get more for your money with the Autel. Flying the Autel X Star Premium - YouTube Sent from my SM-S902L using Tapatalk
Fitz, I took a look at the Mavic Pro. I am really liking it; priced between the Phantom and the Yuneec with great features.. I wish I could afford one. Post up some videos after you put it to use.
Good stuff here. How about noise? How much noise am I going to make flying this around while hunting?
They can be quite noisy, and I wouldn't recommend using a drone while hunting as it is illegal in most states.
I would make someone a heck of a deal on a DJI Phantom 2 completely decked out with a Gopro Hero 3 Silver, 3 axis gimbal, 7" monitor, 4 batteries, hard side case, GoPro filters ... too much to list to be honest. Over $2500 invested. Never crashed. I could get someone a complete run down of everything if someone is seriously interested. I bought it all brand new 2 years ago, used it for a couple months and since then have flown it twice (as recently as about 4 weeks ago). I just don't use it.
Westfinger, "How much noise am I going to make flying this around while hunting?" Lot's, unless you can control your laughter and contain your excitement.
Watch the video in my post. You can hear it behind me. It's loud enough that you don't want it around you while hunting, just use it for B roll footage. Sent from my SM-S902L using Tapatalk
After seeing the Mavic in action, I would have to say it's pretty awesome. I have a Phantom 3 Pro and it does the job just fine, it's just not nearly as portable as the Mavic.
