I recently got into archery, I have a question about whether to use a single sight pin or multiple sight pins. Right now I'm using multiple sight pin. It seems like the multiple sight clogs up my vision and target. Is using a single sight pin better or just keep using the same sight?
Its really a matter of preference. As I am getting older I prefer a moveable single pin sight as it clears up my sight picture and helps me to aim better. Each has it advantages and disadvantages.
As mention above its all about preference. I changed to a single pin last year. It does take some getting used to especially when it comes to if your targets will be at a set distance or various distances. It just takes some practice. And as I learned, you may have to fine tune the site not the pin when you start shooting farther distances. Good luck.
It is a matter of preference. Many people say they love how a single pin sight eliminates the clutter of pins in their view. I made the switch several years back to a Single pin and I have not regretted it.
If you're brand new to archery, the EZV sight is an option. I just changed to one after 30 years of pins.
I've had good luck with my HHA, previously I had a Cobra. They were both single pins. With the peep I use, the single pin is best for me. I also shoot with both eyes open. It all comes down to preference.
I shoot trophy ridge react sights. It is a multi pin sight system that would be good for beginners because once you sight in 20 and 30 the rest of your pins are basically on outside of some minor tuning. I have thought about going to a single pin sight and maybe some of you can help me out with this....the thing that has always kept me from going to an HHA is the fear of hunting hardwoods during the rut and everything happening quickly and me not knowing where to move the sight as opposed to my current set up where I have multiple pins and can judge the distance and go. i think its really just a matter of opinion, test different sights out and see what best fits. for me I didn't have a lot of money to spend so I bought a 3 pin sight and spread the distances out a little more. my pins are set at 20,40,60(although ive only used the 60 pin once or twice) it helpd me with getting a more clear view of the pins and the target
HHA and Montana Black Gold will be the two most popular brands of single-pin sight. I went with a MBG Ambush Ascent because the pins were brighter in low light conditions compared to HHA when I tested them at the proshop.
My buddy uses a Trophy Ridge vertical multi pin. He likes it because he said it was way better for the visibility. Doesn't cluster the sight picture like horizontals.
