Not sure if anyone suggested this yet but I am a thinker. I know there is damage to your property now that needs to be accounted for. On the other hand if it keeps happening here is what you do. every arrow that ends up in your yard you snap in half and throw away like you would a fallen tree branch. eventually the kid shoots them all in your space and the dad gets sick of buying him more arrows. once they hit your property they are yours. That's what i would do.

Or I could send them back at his house ?

Nope, I'd end up in jail while he walks.

Got my estimate $556 (over $300 in labor since they need to remove sides of a corner)
I give it to the neighbor and ask how he wants to pay...clams he ain't been paid yet and asks if I still have the arrow.
I see a court date in my future.

So, sounds like this character is living paycheck to paycheck, that's not a good sign. lol And he has the nerve to ask if you still have the arrow? Unreal.

So he had to get a loan? [NationsCredit]
Probably why he wanted the arrow back. Sounds like he's hurting financially.
Here's an idea...offer to help teach the kid. Sometimes people are so ignorant they don't know what they don't know. You have to live next to these fools it might be worth your time.

No clue about a loan, but if you make a mistake, own up to it and make it right.

I gave him the option to make payments but he said no.

At least they paid for the repairs however it still doesn't really address the negligent discharge of the arrow. The result could have been much worse. I hope your neighbor realizes what could have happened and takes this as serious as it should be. I sincerely pray this doesn't happen again but if it does, you need to contact local law enforcement again and tell them you want to file a criminal complaint. They might not immediately haul him off to jail but maybe a hefty fine from the courts at a minimum will get the point across. Good luck man! I work in law enforcement and I'm gainfully employed because people are stupid.
