The Rant Thread came up again the other day & got me thinking. It's fun to rant about all the things that bug you...bad drivers, "Nubes" on the forum(that one angered me) & celebrities that preach, but TV news & social media are constantly feeding us anger & hatred. The Rant Thread was funny for a while (it's been going since 2013!), but has me wondering... Does anybody else like to recognize all the things they're thankful for? Or what they love? That's why I enjoy coming to this forum. I'll get it started: I love sitting in a tree & watching the woods come to life in the morning! When it snows on my birthday (Nov. 7th) My son's first hunt with me & we got a big doe--he gave her a kiss on the head & said a prayer for her I love when I feed non-hunters at work & they love my venison or turkey or rabbits & squirrels New police officers that want to make things right (Big Phil in NC) "Nite Nite" prayers with my kids I know that other bowhunters spend hours & days waiting for their shot. I know I'm not the only one thanking God during the down time. I bet Tynimiller has some things to share, remembering his grandmother. What about Sota & MNhunter & other senior members... What do you thank God for when your day is over & you get to relax? Archery league...I love shooting my bow. Maybe I'm way off? I'd rather read this kind of thread...But I'm a "Nube"
Kenny not to be unkind but didn't it occur to you that this thread while the opposite of the rant thread probably belonged in the water cooler section along with the rant thread?
My families health. I hear so many sad stories of other parents kids with health problems. I am very blessed to have kids with minimal health issues. I pray for healing for all the suffering families.
Why can't you use the rant thread for positive rants? I don't think it's just for the bad things happening to you. It's up to you want you want to rant about!
Believe it or not I often rant and tend to be a curmudgeon but I am very grateful for many things. My 2 kids who have grown into responsible hardworking adults. My daughter has graduated in 4 years and my son in his 3rd year and plans on grad school. I am grateful for my land where I live and hunt, my little farm is my sanctuary by the time I get to the end of the half mile driveway my mind is at ease. My wife of 25 years is the anchor of the family she is amazing. I also am very thankful that I have a job that while demanding offers me a flexible schedule. While my kids were growing up our family was very busy with sports and 4-H and my daughter competing with her horse, I was blessed to be able to get home early and the kids could always have supper before practice or activities.
I thank God every morning I open my eyes as I am blessed with another day. Today in particular - I'm thankful for co-workers who know how to communicate well. Makes my job so much easier.
Kenny not to be unkind but didn't it occur to you that this thread while the opposite of the rant thread probably belonged in the water cooler section along with the rant thread? Look at this...I even did this wrong! Dang Nubes! I'm learning how it works. If I post anything else, I'll be sure to get in the right sub-forum. Thanks for the tip.
Posting on any forum is like a silverware drawer, some are basic some are deluxe. In any silverware drawer there is a divider. A place for spoons big and small, forks, some have a divider for salad forks too, and then knives. You would never just throw silverware just any old place you follow the dividers. Consider the silverware drawer when you post and you can not go wrong.
You guys rock. I love my little 40 acre farm with 6 of woods...That I can hunt & cut & relax in. My wife of 22 years & my two kids. Best part of my life. My hospital job...Not really flexible, but pays well & I love the work. I love management bucks! Big fat tasty's with messed up ratty antlers. The first two weeks of November! All day in the woods with my brother & a couple cameras...Even when we get skunked!
Tornado went thru last night touched down a few places just east of me by a 1/2 mile or so. Feel very fortunate to have not get hit, or even lose a big tree branch.
My family farm. Words cannot describe how awesome it has been to grow up here. Ita truly paradise. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
You made me think with this thread man. On the rant thread, you just go and type to get it off your chest and vent. This makes you think a little about all we have that's good. I'm thankful for my great family and friends. On opening day turkey season I'll be starting off a new adventure with my soon to be brother in law whom I really like a lot. I'm also thankful I'll be able to take a friend of mines son out this spring to harvest his first animal. I'm sad this will be the first hunting season I've ever started without my father, but excited at the same time I'll really be doing just about everything related to hunting on my own. I know he'll still be with me every step of the way. Probably laughing and shaking his head most of the time but sending me a few good hand shakes when it all comes together. I'm very thankful for my over tolerant wife. She still gets mad every time a box shows up for me wondering what the heck I've bought now and wondering why I need it so much. But she's stuck with me. All in all I have many more thanks than frustrations so I'm not doin' too bad. And can't forget beer. And yoga pants on the right woman. Yep, that's about it.
I love hearing people appreciate their gifts. Ranting is fun for a minute, but gets out of hand quickly. We live in the best place on earth...Siman in Ohio proves it! Look at his place...I want to post pics from the Pictured Rocks in Lake Superior...Our country is beautiful!
