I'm gonna give it one last shot this afternoon. Season closes at dark tonight. It's a balmy 15 degrees.

Don't have to take the written tests for the state patrol since I had scores on file! Feel like I could cough up my lungs from the physical testing but it's over with! Should make it out tonight!

Down to the last hour. I've seen a button buck at 21 yards do far.

glad to see you guys getting back out right til the end of your seasons. leave it all on the table. no regrets! nothing worse then wishing you would have went out one more time but chose to watch tv instead. let's all remember how long the off season is. the longer we hunt the shorter the off season will be! that's my best pep talk I can think of at this point. keep at it guys!

yes very true. the first thing we did was write down a few measurements of his rack just incase. lucky for me the antlers were still rock solid. trust me we were very nervous about them breaking off.

Well that concludes my 16-17 season. I let that nice 6 walk and saw a fox at last light. This season wasn't productive in inches of antler but it has been my best. I had opportunities and let more deer walk than I ever have while learning new things. I appreciate you guys sharing and letting me share my season with ya'll. I killed my first 2 deer with a bow and was on a great team with an awesome group of guys. Good luck to all that still have some season left.

Me too. That's why I'm leaving now for my evening hunt. I'll at least have some snow pics to share. I actually have a chance tonight because there's been zero pressure, cold temps (20F), and I'll see better with the snow! I also have a PERFECT S/SW wind for my thicket edge. I'm pumped just to get out there, regardless of outcome. lol

Here's the thicket I hunt. Didn't see any deer, just a nice fox on this visit. Spooked one big doe on my way out though. Nice just being out!
