I stayed in this morning since I had to pick up my 15 year old daughter from a New Years Eve party. So I drove past my hunting spot and there was an 8 point buck bedded with a doe about 20 yards off the road and 100 yards from my tree stand. Then I spotted some other deer farther back in the pasture and closer to my stand. It ended up being 7 more does. Then as I drove to the other side of the property and on the other side of the creek was three more does. I will be going out this afternoon and then tomorrow morning since wife will be home to watch the granddaughter.

Well, I did not see anything but when I got down and drove down the pasture this fella was locked down with a doe about 300 yards down the pasture around the creek bend from my stand. Must of came from the other way and bedded down. I have to work here in a bit so will not be out until Saturday now. Here he is and I think it is the buck that I wounded early in the year.
Shot a buck tonight guys! Not the biggest but he's an old one that is on the downhill. Didn't have a ton of blood at the shot, but I got the whole arrow in him, and he took off and I think I heard him crash but I'm going to wait until tomorrow Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums

That's another season I gotta get into is turkeys. We don't have them around for hunting too close here so I gotta do some looking or get out with someone and give it a try sometime. Definitely looks like a blast. I raised ten this year so that's as close as I've been and they've been a lot of fun. Hoping to get some good shed days this spring too. Last year had a great second season finding them and found my two top bucks sets which has me really hooked now. Time just gets to be the issue as with anything Hoping to get some work done in the woods and plots here for next year and hopefully better set. We'll see what kind of surprises change that, been a few wild cards with luck and stuff lately Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
