Many deer have wounds from humans and or other issues. Normally the extent of the damage to the entire body is minimal. The hind quarters all the way up to front shoulders are most likely just fine to process. We processed 400+ deer this year, Trim out what doesn't look, feel, or smell ok to you. When in doubt through it out. Very rarely do we have to Trash a whole animal, and if we do its because of gut shots poor field dressing and heat!

All set up finally, sitting off the side of a brassica plot. Doesn't look they are hitting to hard yet. Looking for a doe tonight, but going to be hard with very little wind and sitting in a tiny tree with no cover. This should be interesting!

Don't do anything crazy, like kill a 180+ class deer, ohh wait, you already did that. Carry on!!! (and good luck)

Well I took the shot at 15 yards and shot her thru the backstraps. Not good, just fat on arrow and no blood. This sucks. She was on edge and ducked as soon as I shot. She will live to see another day. Was able to track her for over 150 yards by her tracks, and couple pin drops of blood here and there. Then blood just stop.

Season ends on Sunday. I wont be able to hunt at all unless the weather forces the schools to close tomorrow. Here is to hoping it snows so I can get one more hunt!
