Looking to order a single pin HHA. What's everyone's opinion on pin size for a single pin sight...10, 19, 29??? Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
How old are you? The reason I ask is that older people tend to favor the larger diameter pin. Additionally if the majority of your shots are closer to the end of shooting light the larger pin will transmit more light without adding a light source. Really its personal preference. I usually go .19 but a good thing to try is go to a archery shop and look through some sights that have the different sized pins and see which one best suits you. The .10 is great if you consistently shoot longer ranges. Andything 40 and in you should be fine with the .19 or .29 . Good luck.
I use the .010 pin. I like it much better than the .019. Smaller aiming point for aim small, miss small at longer distances. I did not lose any shooting light with the smaller pin. I don't have any experience using it in a blind so unsure how low light blind conditions affect it.
I dont think you can go wrong with the .019 size pin. to me its the best of both worlds. i hunt alot of thick timber so the .019 stays brighter longer than the .010 but doesnt cover up as much of the target as the .029. all of my shots are less than 40 yds and i dont seem to have a problem shooting longer distances in practice with the .019
.019 I like the best. I only shoot 40 yards or less on target and every deer I've shot wasn't farther than 20 yds and the pin is perfect. Don't see a need to change Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Thanks for the input. I'm was leaning toward 10 for long range 3D shooting but was worried about performance in low light hunting conditions Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
