I'm in Abbevilee/Greenwood and been hunting here all my life. This will be my first year really bow hunting. Hope everyone has a good season. I'm hoping to arrow my first bow kill this year.

I have family up in Abbeville, some good deer there for sure. Counting down the days until the 15th!

I hunt at Fort jackson in the columbia area and have bow hunted here for about 3 years now. It's nothing like back home in Ohio but it's still good hunting

Lived in Horry County, SC, for 21 years. I still hunt there, but now live just over the NC line. Thank goodness for my lifetime SC license.

Next year I will have to buy NR tags, but it will be worth it to have statewide buck limits.

Not that I know anything because I'm super new to hunting, but friends around here have told me the rut in SC is pretty late.

From my experiences, the rut is in full swing the third week of October through the second week of November. Then it is like someone hit the off switch.

Due to high numbers of buck harvests, there can be ruts much later; every doe that isn't bred comes back into estrous every 28 days. The bucks leftover have to take up the slack.
