That's the exact same reason I took my buck, he came into the rattle and bristled up at the snort Weeze so I wasn't gonna pass on a good buck that followed the script.

yep, kind of the same here, i did a drag line to where i seen a monster of a buck come out of a ravine on friday, hooked it back around to in front of my stand, climbed up the tree, grunted once, started rattling, heard some commotion in some brush about 50 yds away, seen him coming so i stopped rattling, and grabbed my bow, as soon as i stopped rattling he stopped moving and bristled up and posturing, so i grunted again, he just stood there, so i doe bleated, he took 2 more steps and hit my scent trail, and came in on a fast trot, stopped at the scent rag, messed around with it for about 5 mins, then continued right into my shooting lane...had to hold draw for about 3-4 mins while he decided to stop and have a little snack, finally took the last 2 steps and thawck...arrow didnt pass through so i was shocked at first, but could see it should be a good shot, he ran about 40 yards and started to circle back towards me, did a wobbly spin, coughed and crashed....also had a doe run out of the brush where he came from, so guessing he was tending and didnt like another buck encroaching on his woman...

I didnt see my buck come in but when I hung up the horns I looked to my left and he was standing there at 40 yds starring at me, he then thrashed a tree and turn to walk away, I grunted he turned and walked a big circle out and around in front of me then he stopped right next to the doe I shot 10 mins before he showed up, that's when I snort weezed, and he bristled and closed those yards to 8 and at that point I let and arrow fly. I didn't account for him being so close so I spined him but put another arrow immediately through the boiler room.

Spent the weekend gunhunting in Wisconsin. The squirrel to deer ratio was about 500 to 1.

That's what the dnr wants you to believe, but they're hit hard by the 4 tags given out per hunter. Every guy out there is shooting a yearling buck and 3 does. Don't tell me that doesn't have a huge impact the the herd.

I don't get too excited for shotgun season... I usually only buy a antlerless tag, rarely ever use it...I go with a buddy and pretty well let him shoot what ever he wants... will be going the 10th-12th

I don't enjoy gun hunting nearly as much as bow hunting, but my brother—who is in the army—is going to be able to make it back and hunt with me and my dad. So I'm pretty pumped for that at least!

I don't enjoy it as much as bow either but I gun hunt the same way I bow hunt, still and from a stand or blind, and I love the smell of burnt powder. . . Just got chills thinking about it, the thunderous boom, the donkey kick to the shoulder and that wonderful smell.

Been out one time. With the rain very few deer on the cameras think I will wait for the rut to get closer. Have deer crossing a dirt road about 300 yds from the house. One is a big buck with a 3.5" foot print. Put a camera up last evening to see when they are crossing. Not seeing much activity around anywhere. Going to look at some new ground I can hunt close to home. Strange movement this year for some reason. I think it is due to the crop ground last year is now CRP.
