We I sold my Tahoe last Friday and I have put a deposit down on a newer but used Tahoe. However, my wife discovered a crack in the dash where a sane person will never see. I guess the 2013 models have this issue. Fast forward we are still looking but haven't ruled this one out. Hella deal for a 2013. Going to look at some others tomorrow. Also ky wife thanks a 6 cylinder Honda Pilot will hold its value longer than a Tahoe. I say BS. Thoughts? Also I do not like the Pilots And will not own one

Yes a Honda, Toyota, Subaru, Nissan will hold value over any GM vehicle much better. IMO you are asking for trouble with a GM vehicle. Numerous friends and family have had nothing but trouble with them and the recalls are annoying. I'd probably find a Toyota 4 Runner if I was looking for a full size SUV.

Have you ever tested out a Honda Pilot. They're pretty nice. Got some pep too.

My last 2000 Silverado had 200k on it and only normal wear and tear items. My current 2014 Silverado only has 20k but so far so good. I wouldn't say all GM's are nothing but trouble. I also have a Sonic with 60k on it and it has been great.

Anyway I am not a fan of the Honda Pilot's, unless it is going to be much more of a family vehicle versus a utility/hunting vehicle. I have owned SUV's and hate towing trailers. Trying to haul anything in them is a pain in the butt to me. I had a 2005 Honda Civic that the transmission went at 162k so maybe I am biased LOL. I do like the Toyota trucks though. My friend just bought a 2017 Tacoma and it's pretty sharp.

A Honda Pilot will absolutely hold its value better than the Tahoe. That being said, there are lemons with every manufacturer. You have to weigh your needs, budget, likes, etc. GM makes a good looking vehicle in a lot of models. They don't have the widespread reliability reputation of say Honda, but like Coop stated, you can have great reliability with any brand.

I tend to be loyal to Toyota at this point because of how well all of the vehicles I've owned have done. Doesn't mean they're the best, just that's what I have confidence in.

At this point I won't buy anything but Toyota. My wife and I have a 4runner and a tacoma. We absolutely love them.

Well I love GM products, because of the dependability. My last taho had 170 on it and never had a issue, plus you can't beat their gas mileage 20,21 hwy. none of the other SUV's get better then 18. I have a neighbor and a buddy with a Honda Pilot. They just don't suit me for some reason. I do like the 4-runners but I'm not seeing a lot in my price range with good miles on them. Tahoes are well known to exceed 200k.

My 2002 Silverado has 179,000 miles on it and I still, on occasion, get asked if it's a new truck. It runs like the day I bought it. It's my baby!

    BUY AMERICAN!!!!!

You're right, that was a great year. I've put some money into wear-out items over the years, but it certainly beats making monthly payments! lol I've heard that if you change your oil often, which I do, you can actually get 300,000 or more miles out of the 5.3 engine. Gotta luv it!

I've really had no major repair except maintenance and items you'd expect you replace .

Only issue I have is rocker panels and cab corners need replaced

I have no loyalty to any manufacturer. I was sold on a Tahoe after having a Yukon for a rental for a week. So I sold my Pathfinder (that I hated) and bought a 2005 Tahoe LT. Absolutely fell in love with it. I've had an expedition that was a POS And a Avalanche that was great but not 4x4. I hated the plastic on the bottom of the Avalanche. Just a horrible design

The first car me and my GF bought new was a 2005 chevy malibu max. Other then doing 1 tune up to it, nothing has been fixed. We gave it to her mom in 2014 with like 275k miles on it and its still going strong. I think it hasnt hit 300k miles yet.

In 2012 my gf bought a chevy equinox. We replaced the alternator 2x after 100k miles. Other then that no issues.

My father has a 2005 gmc sierra and has over 300k. No issues either.

All manufacturers have their flaws. Out of every litter there are always lemons.

I currently have a 2014 tacoma and love it. Just hit 60k miles on it and still runs like it came off the showroom floor. After we give our daughter my GFs chevy equinox. We will probably purchase a new Toyota 4runnner.
